Pros: Shipped right to your door, easy to finance and easy to use and customize.
Cons: Can be expensive to upgrade
I ordered this Dell about 6 months ago and decided to add optional features (such as more RAM) upon ordering. I know that computers are rapidly developing and I did not want to get left behind. I was easily approved for financing through their web site...

Cons: After hours support is terrible!!!
I can't tell you how pleased I am with the hardware of the system.
I have always been a big supporter of building my own system but the quality, value, design and customization got me to buy a prebulit one instead. It has a cool design, great...

I bought the Dimension 8200 in October 2001, at 1600 dollars with a 1.7 ghz proccesor speed and 256 mb of rdram it wasn't a bad deal at all. All the parts were the best at the time and they are still working great. And the few questions I had about...

Dell vs. Gateway

by shortydoowap76 , May 30 '02
Pros: ease of use, quiet, GREAT customer service at a better than great price
Cons: floppy disk drive is a little awkward
Well, let's see. There are a gazillion reasons why I would never go back to a Gateway computer but the top 6 are speed, price, tutorials, tech support, the look, and size. Needless to say, my Dell is like a hundred times faster that my old Gateway, the...

It boots super fast - with a gig of RAM!

by chasf , May 14 '02
Pros: Still the value/perf for a top brand
Cons: Too few PCI slots! I had to take out the modem to add a Card
In April I bought the top of the line Dimension 8200 and have no regrets- it's a 2.2gig Mhz with 1 gig of RDR RAM; came with 120 GB HD and I added a second for under $200. Got the surround sound, plus premium video and DVDRW-CDRW

This PC...

by absharpe , Jul 18 '02
Pros: Very Fast and Very Quiet
Cons: Video Card is only average
I know that this this PC has received a some bad reviews, but I have to say that I'm delighted with mine.

Perhaps that's because I was coming off of a Compaq Presario 7970 (700 MHz Athlon, 128M SDRAM, etc.) This beast, which cost me about...

Cheap and Reliable....SWEEEEEET!

by damusicfrk , May 24 '02
Pros: Fast, Reliable, Customer service is good.
Cons: It's not perfect...but then what computer is?
Most people assume making one's own computer would be much cheaper and produce a much more stable computing enviorement. Also, it generally allows you to put on only the things that you want to put on as far as hardware and software goes. The problem is...
