so much for so little extra

by gblackflash , Jul 30 '01
Pros: a cinematic experience with a perfect monitor sound system
Cons: nothing that the service people can't handle
With the recent decline in prices on the market for powerful processors it is worthwhile to spend that extra bit to go for a real power-house
I admit to being a mere amateur on the computer scene yet I have no doubt in my mind I am right in...

Nothing to write home about.

by bstanfill , Jul 29 '01
Pros: Nice Speakers, Comfortable mouse
Cons: Every hour and a half problems arise I will get in deatil in the epinion.
Nothing to write home about unless asking for help and sympathy. Well it has some nice things about it but I hate one main thing about it. It has 128 meg of ram and about every 130 minutes it seems like it is frozen but then five mins later it works...

Awesome System

by justlisa , Jul 28 '01
Pros: Easy to add new hardware; Awesome tech support
Cons: USB port can be a problem
I had previously written an epinion shortly after getting my T500 and I see that has somehow ended up in archived computer hardware reviews. I've had this system a year and a half now and still love it. The only problem I've had was/is with the USB...

Pros: Very Efficient, It get more work done, at a quicker speed...
Cons: N/A.
I've always used Dell computers anyway, from the year 1986. So my opinion might be slightly biased, ha, ha, ha. I recently upgraded my Dell computer and I've gotta tell you, its been one of the best experiences in my life. My new computers is like a best...

by sailn314 , Jun 25 '01
Pros: It is a very easy to use system
Cons: it is a little pricy, but it is always easy to get deals
The Dell Dimension XPS T500 is ideal for work groups or individuals who demand fast performance and up-to-the-minute technology at aggressive prices without the need for manageability. There is also innovative Internet service provider offerings. When I...

I need more speed

by Killa_T , Jun 22 '01
Pros: excellent tech support, nice monitor
Cons: not quite a state of the art system
With all the great deals going on with computers right now, I can't understand how this is supposed to be one. It has sub-par processing speed, ram, video, and hard drive space. It also only comes with a CD-ROM, when newer computers are starting to...

The Little Dell that Couldn't

by vi9 , Jun 19 '01
Pros: It's a Dell...if that means anything
Cons: Horrible speed and lacking system resources.
My friends, we have all come to recognize Dell as a brand name when dealing with computers. Heck, Dell is number one in direct sales in the U.S. However these computers they sell are entirely over-priced. I recently built a 1.2Gig Pentium III computer...

DELL's a Smart Choice

by psout100 , Jun 06 '01
Pros: It's a DELL. Lower end of Pentium III's, making it a good deal.
Cons: Slow motherboard for today's technology.
I bought this computer (only my second DELL), in December of 1999. The Dimension XPS T series was DELL's top of the line product at that point. The fastest model was 700 MHz, but I chose the 500 MHz. Whenever purchasing a new computer...NEVER go with...

Affordable and simple

by theinformer , Jun 04 '01
Pros: Quick setup, great technical resources, easy to customize, easily upgraded.
Cons: Long wait to connect with a technical assistant using a phone.
When I eagerly opened the box of my T500, I was happily greeted with a nice looking computer, a mouse, keyboard and speaker system. It took about a half our to set up, and I was ready to view dvd movies, browse the web, or play games at a fast speed,...

This machine is a workhorse. It is 500mhz and has 128mb of RAM with a 16 mb video card(nvidia tnt) and has 8 gigabytes of physical memory. These specifications may have been updated a little more since the time I had bought mine but even if they have not...

Good enough for the vast majority

by sr4b , Feb 11 '01
Pros: web browsing, MS office type applications, decent performance and a great value
Cons: Not enough for today's most demanding games.
I bought mine when it first came out (in May of '99). It has and continues to serve me well. I run Windows 2000 (though I used to use Win98). It has been reliable, trouble-free, and more than adequate for my law school years and beyond.
