Power for Gamers

Pros: Lots of Memory, fast, image quality, price, DVD playback is great.
Cons: driver updates
My radeon 64 mb ddr is the greatest graphics card i have ever used. It combines power with a price that won't leave you with an expensive card, and no games.

To ATI or not to ATI?

by qbprogger , Oct 12 '01
Pros: Great card, great features, great multimedia for your computer.
Cons: A few minor details to watch out for (shown in this review).
I recently was in the market for a new graphics card. My old Voodoo3 didn't quite have the "oomph" that it used to have, and I was also looking for a graphics card that could hook up to my TV and play DVD's while giving me a great solution for my gaming...

Cons: Drivers are still somewhat buggy

Pros: 64 MB DDR RAM, Video in/Video out (VIVO)
Cons: Driver updates are infrequent
Sorry, nVidia fans... Although I am a great fan of the GeForce3, like all Britney Spears fans (ew), I can't touch the object of my affection.

GeForce3 is WAY OUT THERE in terms of pricing ($360+), and all of the boards based on this chipset...

A Great Alternative To GeForce Cards

by shadowmcshadow , Jul 31 '01
Pros: Incredibly Fast, 64 MB DDR, plays most new games with perfect frame rates
Cons: Drivers are buggy, annoying fan
ATI has never been taken seriously by gamers for their video cards. They were bug ridden and always many steps behind nVidia's offerings. So when the ATI Radeon came out most people didn't look twice. Why would they, with their past, and the fact that a...

Pros: Res., FPS,64MBs, Acellarated for Open GL and Direct X.
Cons: Expensive, Drivers need work.
This is Ati's highest performance product on the market. There is only one other company that rivals this product, the company is no other than Nvidia. The are many great things about the Radeon that it renders everything very crisp. One other thing...

Pros: Awesome 3D performance in today's and tomorrows games.
Cons: Memory not clocked high enough to take advantage of the GPU.
Okay, I was shopping for a Video card to replace my 3D Prophet IIMX. I reviewed many Video cards such as the GeForce2 GTS Pro and the GeForce3. Out of all the cards I reviewed the GeForce3 had the best framerates and 3D performance. But, It didn't have a...

Shoddy drivers, poor support.

by cortexbomb , Jul 02 '01
Pros: 64Mb, video in/out, excellent 2D performance.
Cons: poor OpenGL support, poor drivers, lack of helpful support.
While this card is an excellent piece of hardware, with awesome specs and many features, I have had endless compatibility problems with this card. I have used every supported and "special purpose" (beta) driver released since Jan 2001, and no one driver...

very nice...if you're an Intel person

by beanbear , Jun 05 '01
Pros: performance, lots of features, best DVD playback
Cons: value, horrible drivers
Abstract:

The Radeon is very nice, but the many nVidia licensees make price comparisons tough. Performance-wise, it’s a toss up. Driver-wise nVidia is tops.

Design/Installation:

It’s as easy to install as any...
