Pros: awesome performance, user friendly Cons: it's aging too fast
I bought my Annihilator back in March 2000, together with the rest of my current system. It's found a comfortable place in the AGP slot of my mainboard and runs @ 100 MHz, accompanied by my pIII 550, 192 MB RAM and 30,6 GB drive.
Pros: Great game acceleration with compatible games Cons: Not many games have caught up with this card's technology
I recently purchased a HP Pentium 2 550 MHZ computer with 96 mb of RAM and a 16 gig hard drive. It came with a no name 3D Accelerator card that did basicaly nothing for game acceleration.
Pros: Simply Awesome Power. Levels the Processor Playing Field. Cons: A Little Expensive.
It's difficult for me to admit that my blazing computer system is nearing the end of its relative operational life span. I just need to face it, my Pentium II-450 is now considered "low end". The thing is still wicked fast, but it barely...
Pros: Lightning Fast Graphics Processor; 32MB RAM (32MB DDR RAM in Pro version); Driver Support & Enhancements Cons: Price; Rate at which Technology Improves
GeForce 256 or 3Dfx?!?
This is one of the hottest arguments in the realm of computer hardware, or at least it was one of the hottest arguments until the results of the new GeForce 256 chipset were witnessed. NVidia, who manufactures...
Pros: Runs great, Enhances Graphics Cons: Doesn't work with all games just yet
The Nvidia GeForce256 by Creative Labs is a 32 Mb video card ... For those not familiar with the function of video cards; It's main purpose is to make the objects and pictures you see on the screen clearer and smoother ... By smoother, I mean that if you...
Pros: Excellent FPS, good price, you can not ask for any thing else Cons: None
When God created 3D video games, he meant them to be played on this card!
We are talking multi-textured pixels, more than 3.8 gigatexels per second, over 15 million triangles per second, four 32-bit 3D rendering pipelines and single pass...
Pros: Extreamly fast opengl and d3d Cons: no tv out
For most avg gamers this is a little to pricey but if u love your FPS games this is the card for u. There isnt much i can say about this card that is not heavnly out of the box and into my machine is went booted up and installed the drivers off the...
Pros: Great performance, more reasonably priced than DDR Cons: Not the fastest on the market
For the full story of why I decided to build a computer around the geForce chipset, read my review of the Guillemot Prophet DDR. As to why I bought this card, well, impatience is the culprit.
I was intent on building a computer with a geForce...
Pros: Easy to install, great drivers. Cons: Expensive. No TV-Out
The Creative nVidia GeForce256 is a huge advancement in 3D Technology. With it's amazing 4x abilities, it can eat your RAM, or put incredibly pretty pictures on the screen.
With it's incredible T&L filtering, the GeForce is superior to...
Pros: Low price, Great name Cons: Not a huge performance leap from the TNT2U, lack of a software bundle, no TV-Out, Hard to find at local stores
Creative's slogan for their GeForce line is: "The 3D Blaster® Annihilator™ combines the best 3D chipset available - the GeForce256™ from NVIDIA - and Creative's award winning engineering and design to create a graphics accelerator that is truly at...
Pros: Fast, Fast, Fast, Fast, relatively inexpensive, backed by Creative Cons: backed by Creative, not the fastest card out there anymore
Little note: I'm using the Annihilator PRO, which is based on the GeForce 256 w/ DDR Memory. A little bit different but this is as close as Epinions gets, so here goes...
The story...
I have been thoroughly unimpressed, no make...
Pros: Fastest card on the market. Nvidia demos are Sweeeeet, Nvidia is known for releasing faster drivers every month or so. Cons: Kinda on the expensive side, The bundled software was disappointing.
I previously had a 16mb NVIDIA TNT graphics board and was very please with its performance. When I learned about the worlds first GPU (graphics processing unit) in the form of the geforce I was totally excited. This card has more transistors on it...
Pros: Very compatable, extreamly powerful, everyone carries it. Cons: The price is just a tad steep.
Its not too hard for me, a video game fanatic to decide right off how well my graphic card is performing. Well... I must admit, even I'm amazed. The Geforce (unlike other 32 meg vid cards) actually offers you 256-bit images! Currently no other card...
Pros: Easy to install, very fast Cons: slightly pricey
As the local computer nerd I continually get asked (specifically by college students that feel the need to play games rather than finish their homework) what is the best 3D accelerator for games. This is my conclusion after running several in my labs...
Pros: GPU is latest in video processing technology, extensible Cons: No support for 3DFX Glide, hence some older, less popular games
THIS IS AN UPDATE TO THE PROBLEMS I INDICATED WHEN UPGRADING
TO A CREATIVE ANNIHILATOR BOARD. (See previous review).
Knowing why something fails is most of the battle.
If you are considering buying one of these Nvida GeForce...
Pros: Great card and GPU unit, Reference card for NVidia chip Cons: Compatibility with older software - esp. 3DFX Glide games
Why write when everyone else already rated this card GREAT! ???
I have an advanced EE degree and I am one of those people that upgrade
with parts rather then replace by buying an entirely new computer.
Rather then telling you about...
Pros: Very smooth display in high end games and applications Cons: A little tricky to get going
After doing a few weeks of research of the latest graphics cards, I decided to go with the Creative Labs Anihilator. I'll admit, it was over my price range (by about $100) but I have NEVER had a problem with any Creative Labs produce (and the few that I...
Pros: Nothing better than this--you will NOT be disappointed no matter what, the fastest GeForce DDR card on the market, great overclocking features (easy to use too) Cons: Price (use www.pricewatch.com to find the best deal)
This Christmas, I was fortunate enough to purchase an Annihilator Pro. At the time, the Creative Labs card was under backorder everywhere you looked--today the situation is slightly better, but finding one of these rare commodities can still be a...
Pros: Gets even more performance out of an already fast video card for FREE Cons: non
By most estimates, overclockers make up about 2% of the home computer users. Oddly enough, even though most overclockers know more about hardware than the average person, most overclockers don't overclock their video cards. Oh sure, there is the...
Pros: Fast, S3TC support!!, Crisp N clean!! Cons: Of course, drivers...

Pros: High memory, fast processor, separate graphics engines. Cons: No included games (So?)
Working at a computer store allows you to see all different kinds of things go through your hands, and the Geforce 256 just happened to be my latest plaything. I use the term "plaything" loosely.
Pros: Excellent Speed & Visual Quality, Support for T&L Cons: No TV Out, High Cost
I bought this card after trying a Diamond Viper II (Savage 2000 Chipset) for about a month. The Viper II was unsatisfactory; I experienced significant driver and compatibility issues. After having an "ancient" (by modern hardware product cycle...
Pros: Fast, still well supported Cons: Noisy, some cards are faster still
I was given one of these, yup – given! It replaced a (fully working) TNT2 Ultra that was incompatible with my motherboard (I got a new motherboard as well, this was just compensation) and I’m very pleased with it. In 3D games my PIII-450 is faster than...
Pros: Great product, great driver support, easy to install Cons: New GeForce 2 GTS is a faster product
This card is amazing! Based on the incredible Nvidia GeForce graphic chip, this board rocks. While I'm not the serious hard core gamer that I once was I still love to play some of the hottest 3D action games out there (Half-Life, Rainbow 6, Quake III)....
Although this video card is not the best out in the market, it is one of the top ten and still great for gamers. Running Quake III at 32 bit, this card performs at 78 frames per second, which matches the Erazor X2. This great all-around performing...
Pros: Great investment, will keep up with tech for years Cons: A bit expensive
The 3D Blaster Annihilator holds much to its name. In terms of quality, the name says it all. This graphics card makes any game beautiful. Also, the game runs more powerfully. This is because the chipset utilizes some of the thinking power, and...
being used to having a generic video card for the past two years, i was rather impressed with the nvidia geforce 258 when i tried it to say the least. being the fastest and most advanced video card on the market today, i need not even talk about its...
Pros: GREAT CARD! FAST FAST FAST! Cons: Some minor issues in everquest.
I received this great video card as a christmas gift last year and installed it. I went from having no 3d accelerator to this one and have been absolutely amazed. My Celeron 400 went from running with a low frame rate and slow speed to moving smoothly...
I have seen this video card at work, and I must say that I was impressed overall with its performance. I even decided to buy one for myself. This is where I ran into a problem. My machine is an AMD K6/2 450. Unfortunately, this card does not work...
Pros: Extremely good graphic capability Cons: Can't find one
The Geforce video card is perhaps one of the best cards ever to be released. It far surpasses the voodoo 3 3000. The capabilities with this card are very promising. It runs games like unreal tournament and quake 3 perfectly at some of the highest...
Pros: Fast frame rates, Fabulous colors Cons: Expensive
I have a terrible addiction to Quake (id Software). When 3Dfx released the first Voodoo card, I had to have one. I then promoted the Voodoo card to Voodoo 2 when Quake 2 was released. I was very satisfied with the performance, but video quality left a...
Pros: Excellent graphics and rendering Cons: Pricey
When I recently purchased my new computer, I ordered the Creative Labs GeForce 256 Annihilator mostly for gaming purposes. I have installed several games, such as "Half-Life", "Unreal Tournament", "Quake 3 Arena", and...
Pros: Slightly faster than ultra, looks pretty :-) Cons: Bad support, hot to touch, no that much better
I took my 3d blaster ultra tnt2 for this baby. My version was not the DDR. First off, on my system at the time I was one of the little that had problems. Mine constantly crashed. GPFs, freezing games, really bad when using GLIDE, drivers were...
Pros: You can now run every game MAXED OUT! Cons: You won't get to complain about your comp being to slow!
Well today I decided to get myself a christmas present, so I went around checking things that were out on the web, decided what I needed and stuff. Well I found the Annihilator by Creative Labs! So I said hey my current video card is getting kind of...
The nVidia GeForce 256 Annihilator card is the best video card that you can possibly buy at the time. It delivers excellent graphics and extremely smooth frame rates. i would recommend this card to any serious gamers that dont mind spending some money...
Pros: Fast card great technology, could be great Cons: Little to none at all support by games, Direct 3D just sucks!
I own two, two-year-old Diamond Monster Voodoo II's running in SLI mode on a 350 MHZ PII with 96 mb of ram and they still beat this card even when this card is running on a 700 MHZ Athlon with 128 mb of ram. The reason why is that hardly any games work...
Pros: full Speed ahead Cons: won't work with some games
I bought this card after having bought a voodoo banshee. So I was pretty much new to 3dfx cards. I was using bleem the psx emulator and ultrahle and a few other 3dfx needed stuff on my system but it was kind of slow graphics where their but still slow....
Pros: The best card on the market Cons: A little pricey
Kudos to the developers at nVidia. This is by far the fastest, most advanced graphics card on the market. It is so good, it took me forever just to get my hands on it. This card can take any computer and easily boost it to the next level. The...
Pros: Most powerful Video chip on the market Cons: IT IS EXPENSIVE!
I am a huge fan of the computer gaming world. From Ultima 9 to Unreal Turnament, I craved it all. I owned a Viper 770 Tnt2 card, and I must say it was a nice card, but then I got Creative labs GeForce256 Annihilator. OH MY GOD! This card, being the first...
I bought this product after having had the 16 meg RAM NVIDIA Riva TNT card. I knew this company knows what it is doing AND BABY IT DEFINITELY DOES!!! First off the 32 megs of RAM make it QUICK. That along with he new chipset (GeFore) with all its...
Pros: Best 3D Card Ever so Far, Ready for Future Games, 6 month Shelf Life Cons: Bad Software Bundle, a tad Pricey at some stores
The Creative Labs Annihilator Pro was the first Geforce 256 Card available on the market. To do so, creative labs had to rush production of it. Fortunately, the card wasn't effected, still being one of the best Video Cards ever. Unfortunately, they were...
By far, the most powerful video card I have ever owned. Although relatively old, the Creative 3D Blaster Annihilator packs quite a processing punch; the DDR version of the card is comparable to the much newer Geforce2MX boards in every aspect but FSSA....
Pros: Smooth textures, very fast, can handle high polygon counts. Cons: Not compatible with all games, expensive.
I purchased this 3d card for lack of a good 3d card when I bought my computer. It is a p3 450 with 128 megs of ram. The main reason I bought this card was because of a personal recommendation from a friend.
The Creative Labs Annihilator is a great graphics card. But when purchasing this card, be sure and ask for the Annihilator Pro. It boasts twice the rendering power of the Annihilator, and also packages Need for Speed High Stakes along with the Evolva...
This is one the the best graphic cards I have seen in a long time. It's fast, smooth, and runs Quake III incredibly fast. This would be a great buy for any gamers out there. If you are a hardcore gamer I would buy the 3d Blaster Annihilator Pro but...
