It has it's uses....but....

by pepper99 , Jun 12 '01
Pros: Easy to hookup and use, durable.
Cons: Expensive when compared to digital cameras which double as webcams for the same price.
When a close familly member moved to the southern USA, my wife decided that a Webcam would be great to allow us to videoconference, making the departure a little easier to take.

The Logitech QuickCam was the first "Webcam" that popped into my...

Keep it in perspective

by jmplavigne , Aug 23 '00
Pros: Simple setup, simple operation, lots of fun
Cons: Requires proper lighting for best results
The Logitech Quick Cam Express seems to be getting some bad press. This is unjustified in my opinion. This camera is an elementary entry level camera whose function is best suited and probably intended for entertainment. Given the minimal price for this...

Logitech QuickCam Express -- Cheap and easy fun

by oneaprac424 , Jul 18 '00
Pros: Cheap, easy to install and use -- *much* better quality than I expected for a $50 camera!
Cons: Cord is too short, pictures are grainy (without *enough light!*)
As I read through the comments on the Logitech family of webcams, I can't believe the amount of people who've totally put down these products! OF COURSE you're not going to get picture-perfect quality out of a product you've paid $50-100 for! If you...

No Drivers for Windows 2000

by fperkins , Apr 13 '00
Pros: Works with 95/98/NT 4.0
Cons: Doesn't work with Windows 2000
Don't buy this camera if you're planning on using Windows 2000.

Logitech's official response is:

"Currently, Logitech does not have a version of QuickCam camera software, that is compatible with Windows 2000. Logitech does...

Waste Of My Money

by gamblinfamily Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Oct 23 '00
Pros: Cheap , Cheap
Cons: Cheaply made , resource hog , poor picture quality
Originally I was searching for a webcam that would suit my needs. I use it just to make silly faces at people who visit my cam page. Once in a while I make a video or two to send to the folks. I don't send videos that often because they are so grainy and...

Not Logitech's best product

by Kisai , Sep 14 '00
Pros: Simple Installation
Cons: Buggy software. Some bad compatibility problems.
In the growing trend of people having cameras for the computer, and the ever price dropping digital video cameras; people frequently pick up one of these without knowing a thing about it.

What's the difference between the Logitech QuickCam and...

Quickcam Traveller: An OK DualCam

by quintitech , Jul 10 '01
Pros: Looks cool, drivers easy to use.
Cons: Lousy microphone, too much compression makes 640x480 even worse.
I wanted a web cam and a digital camera but I didn't want to spend alot of dough so I considered a dual cam. I knew that they're all only 640x480 but I just wanted to get pics into the computer for web sites etc. and didn't care about equalling 35mm...

Good Quality and Easy to Use

by e-diva , Jul 06 '00
Pros: Nice images in good light, durable, useful clip-on capabilities.
Cons: Poor images in moderate to dim light, substandard software.
This is the first webcam that I bought for use on my personal website. I've used other Logitech products before and been impressed with them and I figured that this would also be a quality product.

I like the design of this webcam. It's a very...

For special uses only...

by andre98 , Jun 21 '01
Pros: It completes the internet communication package. Enhances personal contact with distant relatives.
Cons: The quality is grainy on my basic model, but it is passable.
I would probably never have bought a web cam on my own. My Logitech cam came with my Compaq system. I did not connect it for months. I am comfortable with the anonymity of the internet. I am not "on the hunt" for social hook ups like so many surfers...

Simple, quick web-cam

by NexusOne , Feb 06 '00
Pros: Easy to use and install
Cons: limited quality and framerate
The QuickCam VC is a nice little camera for video-conferencing and for low quality video and stills. This little thing pushes even an ECP parallel port to its limits. It delivers a fairly smooth stream of video at the standard resolution of 320*240. You...

Logitech Quickcam--Not a Bad Deal for Amateurs

by sungmin_nam , Jan 24 '01
Pros: Easy to use software; can take pictures or create videaos
Cons: Not great picture quality; lack of portability
I found a really great one time deal in www.cyberrebates.com. I had to pay 279.00 plus tax up front, but they'd rebate the 279.00 so that really all I paid was the tax (which is the price I inserted in the price field below). I had been debating between...

Quickcam VC, Inexpensive and quick for web imaging

by crims0n , Jul 13 '00
Pros: Software features, headset included, picture clarity, ease of use
Cons: Mac Software wasn't included on disk
I am writing about the Quickcam VC, USB version. I have found this webcam to be one of the best out there. It easily connects to MAC and PC, takes great pictures, and is easy to use. I have some pictures which I have taken which look like regular film...

It does what it promises!

by dkreskai , Apr 07 '00
Pros: Good video, works on all video conferencing software.
Cons: Slows internet connect on video conferencing
I wanted to purchase a camera to use for video conferencing with my friends and relatives. I wasn't looking to spend a lot of money because I wanted it just for fun. I decided on the Quickcam because of it's low price and it has been around for a long...

Hey! How'd you get your face in that computer screen?

by tiffchuff , Apr 16 '01
Pros: Cheap price, easy to setup
Cons: slippery anchor, fuzzy pictures, short cable
I finally got one of those new-fangled web camera thingies. Now what? Well, I bought a QuickCam Express from Logitech. I think you're familiar with this one--it looks like a big eyeball that sits on top of your monitor. Here are my thoughts on this...
