Pros: Sheer size, great design Cons: cost
Summary: This is a really big monitor. The specs really don’t do it justice...no numbers really quantify the ability see three full pages of text side by side. The Cinema Display is truly a thing of beauty, and worth every penny. If you do the math, the cost ... read more

Pros: Stunning, clear, fun to work with Cons: expensive
Summary: I couldn't wait for this monitor to arrive. To hook it up was a piece of cake. Of course I hooked it up to a G4 dual 867. This monitor was made for this computer. I was amazed when this baby lit up. Crystal clear, and the outstanding feature was,no more ... read more

Pros: HUGE, Bright, Clear display, One cable for everything Cons: Cost, Resolution, No power switch
Summary: Clarity, that's the first thing I noticed running my only Samsung SyncMaster 19" monitor next to the Apple Cinema display. The Cinema display is so clear, the pixels so accurate that the SyncMaster just looks blurry in comparison.
In the past ... read more

Pros: Huge. Can see documents full size, great color, sharpness. Awesome. Cons: None other than cost
Summary: This thing rocks. The biggest baddest coolest monitor you will ever have. We have three of them where I work, and let me tell you, I would be very sad if I had to go back to a 21" CRT display. This thing is just amazing. I can view full size documents, I ... read more

Pros: shiny, big, impress friends and strike fear into enemies Cons: dead pixels, dead usb, apple tech "un"support
Summary: I was an early adopter of the 22" Apple Cinema Display, having purchased one in the Spring of 2000. After drooling over the monitor at MacWorld Expo SF, it just made sense to clear off some desk real-estate to make way for the luminous beauty. As other ... read more

Pros: Gorgeous; vast real estate; small footprint Cons: Expensive; color-accuracy isn't as great as CRTs, but color-calibration kits should be available soon
Summary: When I decided that it was time to replace my blue & white G3 and humongous 21" ColorSync monitor, I couldn't bear buying a smaller 17" display. The Cinema Display gives me even more room than before to store all of the Photoshop, Illustrator, and Final ... read more

Pros: A great display but an ugly surprise from Apple Cons: You need a converter box to hook up to any but the newest Macs
Summary: Just last week Apple announced it was dropping the prices on the Apple Cinema Display. The coolest monitor ever made. As I have been salivating over one for more than a year, I had to have it. So I ordered one and this is what happened. You need to know ... read more

Pros: large size, beautiful color and contrast, space-efficient Cons: dead pixels, expensive, proprietary connector
Summary: The upside
I've been using my Apple Cinema Display (ACD) for a few months now, and overall it's an excellent display. Images are sharp, colors are vivid, and the large screen resolution (1600 x 1024) make it great for doing design work. ... read more

Pros: Stunning, absolutely solid, huge picture Cons: Very very expensive
Summary: I first saw the Apple Cinema Display at MacWorld San Francisco in January, 2000. No one I knew had seen one, and I was looking forward to getting a chance to rest my peepers on it in person. Little did I know that I would soon be so overwhelmed by this ... read more

Pros: big Cons: over priced, poor for graphic uses
Summary: Ok I own a cinema display, and it has many problems..dead pixel, fading color from bottom to top, and a vertical grey stripe in the center. After months with Apple they told me they would not replace the monitor. this would be fine if it cost $1500, but ... read more

Pros: Extremely readable text, great color calibration, great brightness Cons: Hard to find stands, only works on G4's and up
Summary: So, I finally got to test an evaluation unit. Bear in mind, the one I tested is sort of a 'limbo' version.. if you buy one, you'll most likely get the Apple ADC connector that combines power, video, and USB into one plug.
Text is extremely ... read more

Pros: Big, bright, sharp Cons: Requires AGP slot, so in a multi-monitor setup, only one can be a Cinema Display
Summary: I recently upgraded one of the monitors in my triple-monitor setup to an Apple Cinema Display. Seeing the Cinema Display alone is impressive, but when you see it side-by-side with a conventional 21" CRT monitor you fully appreciate how amazing it is ... read more
