  • Okay, but there are better choices (Early Abit BX6-2)

    Nov 10 '00
Pros: Processor multiplier, FSB and voltage settings tweakable in BIOS
Cons: Mediocre stability at stock speeds, may not be compatible with some SCSI adapters

Summary: I bought this motherboard over a year and a half ago when I was tinkering with an Intel Celeron 333MHz by overclocking it. But unfortunately, my system won't boot at any speed above an 83MHz front-side bus. (Further testing on that chip on other ... read more

  • The Old Lady isn't getting younger (The Geriatric Update)

    Apr 05 '01
Pros: Might be old, but still a lady.
Cons: HTP366 UDMA Controller fails under NT technology.

Summary: I chosed Abit BE6v2 two years ago. Sounded like an overkill for my needs, but what the hell.. udma66 and BX chipset were the FORTE points. Very first day she wouldn't find my SoundBlaster. After a while it worked, but only on PCI slot#2. ... read more

Pros: Easy to use, stable, workhorse
Cons: None really, it just won't take users into the 1 ghz cpus

Summary: I got this motherboard back in the spring of '98 (I think), and guess what? I'm still using it now. It's a definite workhouse, and with the BIOS updates, it can support many of the Pentium 3's out there. I got this board because I was ... read more

    Pros: overclocking
Cons: Where the power plug is located

Summary: This is an excellent motherboard for the money. This is a great motherboard for someone who is not on the bleeding edge of technology. Works well with most peripherals. This motherboard will work with any pentium II, pentium III, or celeron processor out ... read more

  • overclockers dream

Pros: great at overclocking and timeless
    Cons: none

Summary: I actually bought this motherboard when it very first came out. I ran a celeron 300A on it and 450mhz. This is one of the motherboards that brought overclocking to the mainstream. With older motherboards, to overclock your processor you would have to ... read more
