Pros: Big screen with good resolution; very compact and light weight; many different options Cons: Noisy keyboard; tracking pad tends to move your cursor to a different spot when writing
Dell is rumored to have stellar customer service and products that usually outlast most in their competitors. If you read most opinions (or Epinions) on Dell, or if you have owned one of their products, you know these rumors are for the most part true....

Pros: Nice bright screen, fast, light Cons: case could be sturdier, terrible speakers
I'd never been much of a fan of the big computer manufacturers. I much prefer to build my system myself. I get everything I need, nothing I don't, and it's done right. Sadly this isn't a very cost effective option when it comes to laptops. Could it...

Pros: Great deal on a great laptop. Cons: Optional color plastic panels are pretty cheesy, built-in speakers a bit tinny.
This is a great laptop, and I got a great deal on it. As a federal employee, I got a slightly better deal than the one available to the general public, but I still think this computer is a great deal.
The base model starts at around $1800,...

Pros: Dell's reputation, solid plastic case, powerful and value Cons: Speakers are very bad, poor battery performance and not as slim and light as expected.
I purchased this laptop for my own use, paid for it myself so I made sure I did my homework before plunking down $2,000 for it. I was looking for a laptop to run the standard Excel, Word, Tax programs, movies and maybe a game or two sometimes. I looked...

I have had the Dell INSPIRON 4000 now for a few days and after an anxious two weeks of waiting, i must say that i am very impressed by this little baby.
I bought a slightly above average model (the 4000GX) which has a PIII 850Mhz processor,...

Pros: Power, weight, features Cons: Keyboard, pointer drivers
I did tons of research before buying a laptop for school. I finally got it down to a Dell or an IBM and I went for the Dell because of the price. But since then, I've been very happy that I chose the Dell. I ordered online and the system came to me in...

Pros: Nice touchpad, vibrant screen. Cons: Endless problems, endless disappointment, endless hours on Dell's Tech Support Hotline.
After a week of rigorous research into various midrange laptop models, I purchased a Dell Inspiron 4000. Although most other models offered more visual panache and pizzazz (Compaq Presario and Sony VAIO especially), the Dell's price to feature-content...

Pros: lightweight, thin, suitable price Cons: poor speakers, awkward mouse and mouse keys, poor customer service and tech support
As a graduate school student, I need a laptop that is easy to carry around and re-set up multiple times during the day. My previous laptops were all bulky and heavy. I chose the Dell Inspiron 4000 for its modest weight (a mere 5.2 lbs.) and thickness...
