Pros: Blistering performance, fully functional desktop replacement. Cons: HEAVY! Burns through batteries very fast.
I recently ordered a Dell 8000 Inspiron, with the 1400x1050 screen, GeForce2Go video card, DVD drive, integrated network and modem, 256 Mb of RAM, a 20 Gb hard drive, and a 900 Mhz Pentium III CPU.
I had planned to use this machine to pass...

Pros: Fast, gorgeous screen, agressive pricing Cons: Very heavy, limited battery life, quality problems, runs hot, finicky touchpad
I bought this notebook about six months ago and for the most part I love it. The 15" screen is simply superb, running at 1280x1024, its very easy on the eyes. The 850Mhz processor is very fast and performance is on par with a desktop model.

Pros: Fast, clear display, stable operating system, dual keypad and pointer, great DVD experience Cons: Minor case flex
This is my first laptop. I have previously owned 2 Mac desktops, one Gateway PC, and a Dell T 550 desktop. I was a little hesitant at first to buy a Dell laptop. My brother had purchased Dell laptops 2 years ago and returned them either because of...

Pros: It's nearest competitor is the desktop; heavy weight makes it ideal for your desk! Cons: Outer shell is fragile; heavy weight makes it ideal for your desk!
I ordered an Inspiron 8000 Notebook via the Dell web site on an early Mon. morning (about 1:30 AM). Here are the specs:
Intel Pentium III Processor, 1GHz,

Pros: Powerful enough to replace your desktop. Great screen and video options. Cons: A little flimsier than some laptops
After years of waiting, I finally took the plunge and pitched my desktop in favour of a laptop. The machine that finally made this possible? The Dell Inspiron 8000.
It's not that the Dell is the most powerful of the bunch, although it ranks...

Pros: A true Desktop replacement, Ton,s of features, Awesome 2D/3D performance Cons: Win Me OS, cant get Win 98 Se, initial Hardware problems
Well, where to start about the new Dell Inspiron 8000 notebook. I guess it would be appropriate to start with the cons of this unit. Hmm, let me think, well none come to mind. I have read a lot of reviews about the I8000 before buying one to get an over...

Pros: Good desktop replacement, powerful with lots of options Cons: Flimsy plastic casing, lousy keyboard. No dual-head in Windows 2000
The first thing that struck me with the Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop was how fragile the plastic casing felt. It feels like if you apply too much pressure, it will crack or snap apart. In fact, along one of the edges, I found that the seam that holds in the...

Pros: Great system, super fast, GREAT gaming Cons: Slightly heavy, Some common errors
Well, I am sitting at my Dell Inspiron 8000 right now with its beautiful 1600X1200 32-bit color resolution. I'll point out one minor downfall right from the start, though... if you try to switch to anything lower than 1600X1200, the screen loses a LOT...

Pros: BEAUTIFUL LCD screen, high resolution, great peripheral connectivity, wonderful DVD playback Cons: steep price, poorly designed opening mechanism, pointing stick phantom clicks!
We recently shipped our older Inspiron 7500 field support laptop out with our east coast sales rep, and we were so sad to see it go. The Inspiron just looked like a beast. It had a very square edges, it was quite heavy, but it had an enormous LCD and...

Pros: Great screen, Windows 2000 compatible, GeForce2 Go video, even runs Quake III well. Cons: Heavy! Slow HD. FAT32 partition instead of NTFS. Some bad port locations
My Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop came equipped with a 900MHz Pentium III, 256MB of RAM, 15" UXGA screen (1600x1200), 10GB hard disk, 10/100 NIC, 56K modem, 8x DVD player, and has the GeForce2 Go chipset w/32MB of video memory. I also opted for the backpack...

Pros: Vibrant display, full-featured, quiet Cons: Heavy
The 15" ultra display on the 8000 (1600*1200) is so vibrant its in a class all by itself. I recently got a 15" IBM Thinkpad A20p at work (1400*1050) which has a beautful display. Then I purchased the 8000 for home use and found the extra 200 pixels makes...

Pros: Spectacular performance, comfortable keyboard Cons: Quirky touchpad, heavy, no hard reset button.
I purchased the Inspiron 8000 after returning the Inspiron 3800 to Dell that I was somewhat dissatisfied with. Needless to say, I was impressed with this system from the moment I opened it up.
Immediately, I took notice of the chrome-like...

Pros: Powerful components Cons: Rather heavy
Dell are usually quick to pounce on any new computer chip announced by Intel. So much so, Dell will have it available inside a PC the next day. And true to form, Dell's new Inspiron 8000 sported the recent 900MHz mobile Pentium III announced by Pentium...
