Pros: Performance and speedy with P-III M CPU Cons: Little cheap for the laptop outside, too plastic!
This is my first Dell laptop I've never had since I had servral laptops from different companies before. From Compaq 1255 to HP N5150 to Toshiba 2800 and now Dell 8100. I can tell you that you won't regret it if you have one or going to buy one of those...

Pros: Nice size screen, mouse button locations, sound Cons: Heavy. Tech Support wait times.
In my line of work, I see many laptops. I have had the opportunity to work with many of them. If given my choice, I would choose this one. As a Network Admin, I haven't experienced any difficulties with my Dell's laptops, and it was ready from the...

Pros: Stylish, clear and vibrant large screen, easy to use, solid and reliable laptop. Cons: Heavy, upgrade from ME did not go well and it gets hot!
I bought this in Oct of '01 with Windows ME loaded. I received the XP upgrade (free) a few weeks later. Because I had another laptop, I did not use the Inspiron until after I loaded XP. I had several instances after the upgrade where the computer...

Pros: Comprehensive, integrated, good screen Cons: a bit heavy, hot and not much battery life
I basically can recommend this laptop. I have never owned another one. I typically use it for surfing the internet, word processing, pictures and music. I find it to be a little too sensitive at times. I also have had some software glitches that I...

Pros: You can change the color pads. Cons: Everything, I must have received the worst 8100 that Dell could find.
I will keep this very short like the life of my Dell 8100.
The worst laptop that I have purchased and this is coming from the purchasing manager of a large company which buys tons of computers. Do not waste your time they will stall you until the 30...

Pros: screen size/quality=beautiful, here's my .02 Cons: tad heavy- batt life not the best
Well, almost a year. MIne is a 1.0 ghz and I never wrote an epinion about it- I should have. This is a great book, and the 8200 after this is as well.
Few notebooks really meet the desktop replacement challenge. If your looking at this Dell,...

Pros: Good price for great laptop Cons: none
I needed to purchase a laptop for my data consulting business. I priced Dell and Gateway, and for the features that I wanted, the price for Dell was much better. I got all the software, hardware and accesories that I wanted for under $2500. I also had...

Pros: Except weight, everything. Cons: The weight, but what do you expect in something that has so much power.
System Configuration: 20 Gig HD Pentium III 1.13 Ghz 256 mb Ram 32 mb DDR GeForce 2 go video card cd/dvd drive 15' xga (1400x1050) screen floppy drive I bought this computer new in November of 2001 with the three year warranty. Unlike other, ...

Pros: Stylish: matches Any outfit. Great Support. Decent price. Cons: Laptops are limited. Very small screen. Low battery Life.
When I first got word that a friend of mine got a Dell that weighed less than 4 pounds, I was obviously interested. I picked up some things, left my house, and checked this thing out, and within a few minutes, I was sitting down in front of it, admiring...

Dell Inspiron 8100
by goodcase ,Jan 27 '05
Pros: Big Screen, DVD player, speed, easily expandable. Cons: Weight, speakers, fans
Well, what can I say, dell had finally produeced a good laptop. Just kidding. But this laptop is really good, really fast and has a big screen at 15". The DVD player is an awsome feture and looks amazing on the 15" lcd screen. The speakers arnt that great, but what can you expect from a laptop. The only annoying thing is when its been on for a while the exhaust fans turn and there loud but there doing there job. Would i recomend this laptop, of course why else would i have gotten it if i didnt think it were good. The laptop is easily expandable with the covers on he bottom for more ram and the bays in the front for a new dell drive

My disappointment with the Dell Inspiron 8100
by zoella ,May 27 '05
Pros: I suppose the best thing I could say is that it is portable. Cons: See the above four points.
1. the letters on the keyboard are wearing out - exanple: the letters h, n, t, m, are not legible (good thing I worked my way through college as a typist)- the computer is about two and one-half years old.
2. most annoying is the screen becoming blurred and colors changing which is somehow connected with rotating the monitor - when this happens the computer is not usable - sometimes I have to tilt the computer to get it right but most of the time that doesn't help.
3. I am typing this with one hand because I an on an endless hold with Dell. I tried accessing information on their website but the screen displayed a message that said due to overload that service was not available. Perhaps one should checkout a company's service line before purchasing.
4. The hand holding the telephone is going numb so my place will be lost when I hang up
