Pros: Light, fast, reliable Cons: Needs docking station for external drives, keyboard is small for some
I recently bought a Dell LS from the Dell Outlet, after having used one at work for a year. I knew I couldn't go back to a big clunky laptop after experiencing the 3.5 pound, slim design of my LS -- which lets me literally toss the computer (probably not...
Pros: when working properly, a great system, lightweight Cons: poor customer service
My company recently ordered two of these machines (500Mhz, 128MB Ram, 6G hard drive) and I was the one who got to set them up and install all the software. First of all, I want to say that these little machines (about 3.5lbs worth) are very attractive....
Pros: small & almost weightless Cons: no returns, no customer or tech service; metal case runs hot
Lost $3325 to Dell lemon laptop! As a user and owner of computers by Toshiba, Compaq, IBM and Dell, I must discourage anyone from buying a Dell computer. Dell shipped this cool looking light weight computer out to me on May 30, 2000 for which I paid...
Pros: Lightweight, decent battery life Cons: No docking station, runs hot, bad display
I work in IT, and our company deals primarily with Dell products. Mostly, I just configure them and/or fix the apps that run on them. All hardware work is covered under warranty so I haven't had the opportunity to pry one open and give an opinion on its...
Pros:extremely portable (light/thin), built-in ethernet & modem, actually fits on airline tray-table, durable Cons: screen only supports 800x600, can get hot, cannot connect CDROM/floppy simultaneously, no serial port
As a travelling consultant I spent a lot of time working on airplanes, in cabs, in hotels, etc. I have used a lot of laptops during those years and I have come to love the newer ultra-light/slim models such as the Latitude LS. The primary...
We bought one for trial and now we are buying some more. I guess someone has to be the first one always. Very light and comfortable for traveling, with a much smaller suitcase than the previous Dell series (I´ve been a Dell user for a while and if you...
Pros: Excellent screen, compact and nice design Cons: Hard to install an operating system
I got the laptop second hand on an internet market place for 80 euros (around 98 dollar) with a 60 gigabyte harddrive instead of the maximum 12 gigabyte dell offered, the external cd rom drive, and the official dell branded ac adaptor. It came with ...

I currently own three dell computers, a 400mhz laptop, a 400mhz desktop, and an older laptop. These have served me well and are great values. Dell provides exceptional tech-support and assists me whenever I have problems. There are a few...
Pros: Lightweight, Fast, Portability Cons: Runs hot, doesn't support 1024 x 768 undocked.
I'm a Technical Support person for a large US company. I have ordered 60 Dell LS Sub notebook's for the Executive and Executive Vice Presidents of the company. Here is my review:
5=Excellent, 4=Good, 3=Okay, 2=Needs Improvement, 1=Not acceptable ...
Pros: sleek design, lightweight Cons: fan problems
My LS was bought refurbished so maybe I expected too much but there was some problems from the get-go. The fan runs loud (already replaced once) and I am also having some unexplainable cursor jumps while online but not offline. Tech support has been...
An honestly great, versatile product. by ridethewave ,Oct 28 '05
Pros: Portability, processing power, and versatility. Cons: Battery life
I am a college student, and as such, I'm always on the go. I recently purchased a wireless card for my Latitude, adding further to its portability. It is quiet, and great for taking notes in class, and I've created a PowerPoint presentation, while in class no less, and presented on my Latitude. It's even powerful enough for most gaming-it runs complex games without flinching. My only complaint is the battery life, especially while using the wireless card and CD-ROM, which can drain the battery in half an hour when used together. However, it is an overall value, and a great first or school laptop computer.
