Pros: Easy to learn, flexible, inexpensive Cons: No upgrading of system software
10 Reasons to Buy the Handspring Visor Deluxe
1. It's less expensive than similar Palm Pilot devices, yet delivers all the performance.
2. It's expandable...thanks to the "Springboard" modules which allow you to swap out different...

Pros: Some fun modules Cons: Too few options still
Finally, the day is near when my Visor can fulfill its destiny! Numerous third party vendors are trickling out Springboard modules this Spring (get it?!). These vendors can be found by following the links at Handspring (www.handspring.com). Just be...

Pros: Loaded to the max Cons: Bigger than the Palm V, cheaper case
The way I see it, if you want a PDA you have two choices. You either go with the Palm v (Palm VII is too expensive and too clunky) or you go with Handspring's Visor.
I bought my Visor off of eBay and paid way too much for it, but I still love...

Pros: Cheap, Fun, 8mb Cons: hmm.... None.
If you are trying to decide between the Palm Vx and the Visor, this might help you a little bit.
1. The Springboard expansion slot. These are addon cards that you add to the Visor. This alone is why I chose Visor over Palm.
2. The...

Pros: Easy to use Palm OS, solid construction, 8MB memory, Springboard expansion slot Cons: OS not upgradeable (no flash ROM), battery life.
The Handspring Visor Deluxe is an elegantly simple design. The unit measures 4.8" x 3.0" x 0.7" It is a flat box with the front area taken up mostly by the screen. The screen is the same size as comparable Palms (such as the Palm IIxe): 2.375" x 2.375"....

Pros: Cool Color, better battery swapover, springboard module, better built in applications Cons: Bigger then Palm V, Cheapish Construction, no reset pin in pen, poorer handwriting recognition than Palm V.
The Handspring Visor Deluxe is a mixture of good and bad. It is _not_ necessarily a replacement for the Palm V, but will give the IIIX a run for its money.
First, it is important to understand that when you are purchasing a Handspring, your...

Pros: It does what I need it to do Cons: I don't like the backlight on this model
There's already been a good deal of opinion on the Visor, but I feel
I must add mine. :)
I think it's great. I bought it a couple months ago to upgrade from
the Palm Professional I had been using for two years prior. I wanted ...

Pros: Memory, backlight, modular add-ons Cons: Few modules available; doesn't work perfectly with Mac Conduits for some software.
More memory, better backlighting, and module add-ons make the Visor Deluxe a winner for me.
I already owned a Palm III when I decided to purchase the Visor Deluxe, based largely on the fact that I wanted *more* memory, better backlighting, and...

Pros: fairly cheap, lots of memory, nice colors Cons: lack of quality, bugs
I bought this because I liked the price ($249), the amount of memory (8MB), and the potential to expand. However, I can not recommend the handspring and I returned mine after one month for the following reasons:
1. The bottom right portion...

Pros: Solid feel, USB connection, Springboard module, nice colors, PRICE! Cons: No rechargeable Li-Ion batts like the Palm V, no upgradeable OS
I have had my Handspring Visor Deluxe for a month now (Ice Blue)and am more enamored of this wondrous device than I was when I first got it. Kids may play with toys for a while and then not pick them up any more, but this is no toy (even though using it...

Pros: small, inexpensive, solid-state backup capability Cons: fragile design, terrible service, soon independent of Palm OS (upgradeable?)
I was one of the first on-line purchasers of the Visor Deluxe on October 28, 1999. The unit was delivered November 23, 1999, but not with the extra serial cradle and backup memory module I had ordered. They came some time in December and pretty much...

Pros: Great date book. Totally Palm compatible Cons: Feels cheap and plasticky. Expansion slot has limited utility.
I had the option of getting a PDA paid for by work and being the ever gadget hungry I went with the Handspring VIsor Deluxe. At the time there wasn't a good equivalent unit in the Palm line up that was near it in price so it was a good deal for 8...

Pros: Great built-in software, pretty colors, good price. Cons: None.
A few weeks ago, a co-worker asked me to attend a
meeting on his behalf while he was on vacation. I
agreed, but by the time the meeting had rolled
around, the note that I'd left myself as a reminder
had vanished into the sea of paper on my desk. I...

Pros: Value, Memory, Expandability, Cool Colors Cons: Plastic stylus, battery can not be recharged
To start with, I love the Palm. I started with the original Palm Pilot years ago, and migrated to a Palm lll, a lllx, and a 5x. Great products one and all. I now own a Handspring Visor. The Palm OS, which the Handspring shares, is a proven winner. Unlike...

Pros: Nice clone of Palm, cheap Cons: Soft screen, ir port on side
The Handspring Visor is a great deal on technology that used to cost, on average, $200+. For a PDA with 8 MB of RAM, you would usually have to pay over $400. Comparatively, the Handspring Visor deluxe is only $250. Now that the shipping bugs are mostly...
