Pros: When it works, a bargain Cons: These die, company does not stand by it
I have purchased several of these for work. They will die on you. Even if coddled, they die. Handspring support only offers to sell me new ones to replace the unreliable ones I have already purchased. They don't seem to realize that, if the current batch...

Pros: date book plus, price, module adaption Cons: cheap casing, detachable cover
The biggest sellers were the price, 8 mgs and the potential adaptability. I've had it about a month now and am happy with it so far but I havn't used any of the modules yet. It's got great features which include the date book plus that ONLY Hanspring...

Pros: Functional, easy to use, nice software Cons: Hiccup price structure, unresponsive customer service, battery life
There's a war on among the PDAs, and no company is stationed at the front like Handspring. They've released new models, with more on the way, and that means that a day won't go buy without price drops or premiums. The Visor Deluxe is a great starter PDA,...

Visor Deluxe is PERFECT
by jstork ,May 03 '04
Pros: Very easy to use out of the box. Good alarm options. Cons: Not wireless capable, but I don't think I would want that!?
Based on my needs, this visor deluxe is perfect. I was looking at the very expensive units for calendar functions and basic organizational support and I find that the Visor is the easiest to use. I love it and would recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately it's getting harder and harder to find. Why don't companies keep products that work instead of always changing them!?!?!?

What a wonderful organizer! I call it my "3rd hemisphere"
by lisazpilot ,Jan 14 '04
Pros: Easy to use, small enough for pockets, much less expensive than others Cons: 8 MB not enough memory, slower than some other models
I bought my original Visor Deluxe more than 5 years ago. I use it daily for everything (I never forget my grocery list, unless I have left my "third hemisphere" at home). It keeps me organized, holds all of my contacts, with notes (more than 1300!) The Springboard module is incredible! I love the back-up module: it has saved my information many times and made transfer of information to my second Visor Deluxe a one-button ordeal (I dropped my Visor and the screen broke).
I am sad that Handspring is now owned by Palm and no new Handspring products will be made. Handspring had the right idea: make a personal organizer that does all, or most of the functions that the Palm products do, sell it for much less than the Palm equivalent. Well worth the money!

Product is very useful, but...
by dantheman_dt3000 ,Aug 18 '02
Product is very useful, but inability to update OS limits the programs it runs (albeit only a few programs will not work with OS 3.1). The Address book is a lifesaver - it's easy to use and is fully synchable. Battery life is somewhat limited - I can fully exhaust alkalines after 3 days if I take notes on it for 4-5 hours each day. But not everyone will use it this much.

This is the most stable...
by gsenear_dt3000 ,Feb 04 '03
This is the most stable of all the "PDA'S" available. I have had mine for 4 years without any major problems.Handspring's Customer Service is better than Palm's and you get a better product when you buy a Handspring Visor. Because Visor uses an expansion slot you can do almost anything with this hand-held. I recharge my batteries so battery life is not a problem. This is the product to buy if you want an entry level "PDA".
