Pros: inexpensive PRO quality. VERSATILE. Cons: noisy, some surmountable color banding problems.
Summary: I don't believe most people realize what caliber of machine they are looking at when they see the Alps MD5000p next to the consumer inkjets at the local computer shops. This printer can do dye sublimation printing, something that you ordinarily can't ... read more

Pros: dye sublimation option Cons: slow printer, easily jams, pricey
Summary: At the onset, I'd like to say that the Alps5000 (with dye sublimation option) is the closest you'll get to professional photographic quality...hands-down. With the standard printer (without dye sub), you get an average printer (even with V-photo paper). ... read more
