Pros: Greatest printer ever built Cons: Black ink cartridge runs out sometimes
With my dad's obsession with taking a picture of anything he sees, and my ongoing school projects, my family desperately needed a GOOD color printer. Not an alright one that could pathetically push out a couple pages, or an alright one that could...
Pros: Quality of photo prints. Smartmedia and Compactflash interface. Print speed. Cons: Cost of print cartridges.
About six months ago I picked up an Olympus 2020 Zoom digital camera for taking vacation photos and snapshots of my 18 month old niece. I decided at that point that I needed to upgrade my printer so that I could print out photo quality prints of my...
Pros: Great photo print quality; fast print times Cons: Troublesome photo tray; slow card reader
My first color printer, four years ago, was an HP Deskjet 855C. It was a marvelous printer for its time, but the results could never be mistaken for a photograph. One year ago, after seeing the HP P1000 Photosmart at Although I have a few reservations...
Pros: Quality Photo production, easy software, versatility and innovative! Cons: A little slow, but it doesn't matter
For the past 7 years, I have relied on HP to provide a reliable printer for my needs. My needs have changed. Technology has changed. The HP 1000 currently has the best printer for me in the affordable price range. I highly recommend it!
Pros: Quiet, fully featured, great quality prints Cons: Uses a lot of computer resources, photos require tweaking for best quality
Before buying the HP Photo/Smart 1000 I checked out consumer reports, ZDNet, CNET and of course Epinions.com. I have owned Canon and HP printers and at the time of purchase was using a HP 722C with which I was quite pleased. I decided to upgrade...

Pros: Good print quality Cons: It broke the first time I tried it
Aww... You peeked.
Anyway, my wife gave me an H-P P1000 inkjet color printer for Christmas. I would have rated it higher but it was broken right out of the box. I expected a lot better than that from Hewlett-Packard.
Pros: Ease of use, VERY nice quality, pretty fast for an inkjet Cons: A wee bit pricey
I got this printer because my old, trusty Canon BJC-70 died after 6 years of service (may it rest in peace in the techie graveyard). I'm also hoping to delve into the world of digital camera's before too long, and the fact that this printer will allow...
Pros: Great prints. Convenient card reader. Cons: Printer drivers on the CD unacceptable.
What attracted me to the P1000 initially, was the quality of the prints, (2400X1200dpi) the built-in card reader capable of taking type 1 & 11 flash cards, the 8meg memory buffer, and the sheer quietness of the machine when printing.
Pros: Astounding printouts, low price, high resolution, braindead install Cons: Relatively slow, glossy paper can get expensive.
I used to think that high-quality photos from a printer
only came from prohibitively expensive printers and required a professional to be done right. I also used
to believe that inkjets were a waste of money and that
the color printing...
I grew tired of bubblejet printers while enrolled in college. I spent a good lot of ink and patience on an antiquated Canon bubblejet from my first PC several years ago. I only needed to print writing assignments since it's taboo to turn in handwritten...

Pros: Compact Flash and Smart Media reader built-in, 4x6" paper tray Cons: Some problems getting USB to work,

When I purchased my first photoprinter, the most difficult decision was which manufacturer to go with. I think most beginning shoppers for a printer many times come out of the store more confused then when they came in. I had the distinct advantage of...

The Canon printer I’ve loved for about 4 years is finally dying.
So I start looking around on what to buy.
As in most circles,HP is the first and most mentioned name.
So I switched my attention from Canon & researched the line of HP . . ....
Pros: Good quality prints! Cons: Expensive inks. Typical HP printer driver. Quirks with the "paper saver" mode.
About a year ago (December 2000) I bought a Lexmark Z something printer. I think it was the Z42. This was my first "photo quality" printer. I got home and was very disappointed with the results. Mind you that since this is my first photo printer, I...
Pros: Cool design, ability to print straight from memory cards without a computer, ability to download photos from memory cards to the computer, FAST color printing Cons: More expensive than other "home" printers, hard to find in stock, sleek design may look out of place with your other boring components
A couple of months ago, I found myself ready to drop-kick my decrepit DeskJet 660C after it started giving me fits.* I had just burned some custom (legal!) CDs and I needed to print color labels, but my 660C just sat there and whined at me. Just as well,...
Pros: Photo quality prints, quiet Cons: only certain cameras work with infra red device
When I came to the conclusion that me deskjet 720c wasn't giving me the photo quality prints I wanted I began to search the market. After studying the HP site I decided on the P1000.
I was amazed by the quality of the prints, i recently bought...
Pros: Killer prints especially on Photo Paper Cons: The HP ink is still too expensive
I have worked in the computer retail business, and I know the printer market well, but I still spent 6 months investigating the market before making my decision to buy the HP Photosmart P1000.
I wanted a printer that would do justice to the pictures...
I'll be honest. I only owned this printer for about 2 weeks when I decided to return it. Why?? It's not nearly as fast as I would have expected. I've owned a much cheaper 722C for a few years now and it prints faster than the P1000. The specs say...
Pros: USB compatible. Excellent, studio-quality pictures Cons: Installation was way too hard. Drawing mechanism a little too inconsistent
While researching various user commentary for this printer before making my final purchasing decision, I was nearly frightened away by the large number of horror stories from P1000 users. I later assumed that most of them were from various...
Pros: Amazing photo quality, easy USB setup! Cons: Poorly-written driver for parallel port cable, no cable included.
I got this printer for free, it was pretty cool, I used Zing.com's HP-powered online photo-printing tool (an ActiveX app/cntrl) to print out some wallet pictures on my dad's printer, and somehow by using their tool, I won this PhotoSmart P1000 printer! I...
Pros: Fantastic photo quality! Able to run without being connected to a computer. Cons: Doesn't like to operate through other devices. No Parallel or USB connection cables included.
I bought the HP Photosmart P1000 after I couldn’t get new print cartridges in my Lexmark 1100 Inkjet printer to work anymore (Lexmark has started making cartridges for Compaq and Samsung, and these just won’t work). But anyway, I’ve been wanting...
I have a Canon 740(?) color printer at home, I have always thought that the quality coming forth from the printer was good, was I wrong. We recently purchased the HP photosmart P1000 for the office. I cannot believe the drastic difference between the...

When I decided to go shopping for a new printer, I had in mind either a laser jet or a high quality ink jet in order to print my digital photos. After some research, I did not want to spend the amount of money it would take for me to get a quality Laser...
The HP Photo Smart P1000 is an exelent printer and I highly recommend it to any one interested in a HIGH quality printer. I know the price is a bit hefty at $400, but with the time it should last you it's well worth it.
Pros: Georgeous photos Cons: manufacturing problem

Pros: Awesome Print Quality, Quick Photo printing, Quiet. Cons: More complicated control panel
Maybe this isn't the hottest thing on wheels, but as far as I am concerned, this printer is the cats meow! I read some of the other epinions about general office use, and they didn't have great things to say. Well, duh! (not to be insulting to those...

I purchased this printer for $400 a year ago, after purchasing a Nikon CP800 with 2.1mp. I took my compact flash with samples to Staples to compare against the Kodak, Epson and HP. The Kodak at half the cost was no comparison, the Epson was good, but...

I bought this printer brand new a few years ago because I wanted a decent personal photo printer. Now take in mind this was before these little personal sub-dye printers came out. What can i say about this baby, it is great. It prints perfect pictures as ...
Pros: Speed,Price, and USB Cons: Paper jams, Win 98 problems
This is a great printer for the price. I prints fast in black and color. This printer also has good prints.
On the other hand this printer jams a lot. The power cord has a short in it and the paper in the photo tray sometimes is not picked up by the rollers. Otherwise this is a good printer.

Pros: Great price and great print quality. Cons: A veritable time bomb of problems ticking away.
I do alot of photos and graphic projects. I wanted a fairly inexpensive printer with above-average results. I have found the print quality to be just that. Now the bad news. Paper jams are a royal pain to even get to, much less remove. The worst? HP customer service is an illusion. There is no way that they will contact you from their website which is difficult to navigate and don't even think about calling them with a problem. Apparently it is all too easy to hit the language tab somewhere in the settings. I would offer more details but our printer only prints in GERMAN now. This isn't the first time this happened and HP wanted us to PAY for advice on how to correct it.Thanks guys. I should pay you for YOUR design flaws. HP? Never again. Canon was so much nicer and comparable in quality.
Pros: Good photo prints Cons: HP has newer printers with more features
The HP company will always have my business when it comes to scanners and printers. This printer was purchased in the spring of 2000 and hasn't had a bad day yet. The quality of the pictures this unit prints is only limited by the quality of the instrument used to take the picture. Unfortunately the best results come at the expense of frequent cartridge replacement. The cost of the cartridges seems a little high, but when compared to the durability of the printer itself it becomes less of a factor. I started using this printer with Windows 98 and it has had the same performance with my newest computer and XP.
