Pros: Fast, EIDE interface, easy to install, inexpensive, quiet Cons: No hardware decoder card - software decoding requires a lot of resources
Summary: This Hi-Val DVD-ROM Drive can be bought for under $100 now. It is an EIDE drive, so you don’t have to buy a SCSI card and spend your time trying to make it work. The kit includes IEDE cable and the drive, there is no hardware MPEG decoder.

Pros: Fast, crisp pictures, good experiences with other users, slot load Cons: None anymore!
