Pros: Nothing special Cons: Warning, Files, Slow, message speed.
To start with AIM is made by AOL so it has to suck right there.
AOL has made AIM so much better than the IM area in AOL, why is that?? Would you want to make AOL better because then people have to pay to use it??
AIM is nice, you...

Pros: Simplicity, Automatically Saved Buddy List Cons: None
I'll admit it, I don't really like AOL. I've used the AOL internet experience, and I wasn't impressed. Give me a normal ISP anyday, and I'll be happy.
When my family bought a computer 5 years ago, the internet wasn't very big in my area at...

Pros: Works For Me Cons: None
AOL may have had problems in the past with access, but the AIM has never had the glitches that the service has had. I installed it on my Mom’s computer so that we could save money on long distance phone calls and we have definitely done that.

Pros: Ease of use, constant upgrades, a joy to use. Cons: Zero-None-Nada-Zilch
As far as I'm concerned, AOL IM is the only chat program you need. It's small and simple, unlike IRC or ICQ. With the recent upgrades, you can get a voice chat going pretty easily, send and receive files, and much more.
I highly recommend...

Pros: Incredibly easy to use, able to talk to AOL members Cons: still not too great, you can't talk to ICQ members
America Online Instant Messenger is, surprisingly, not that bad! It's not great either, but certainly much better than Aol, which is highly overrated. The reason AOL is so popular is probably because people are so lazy. AIM is much better for what it...

Pros: FREE FREE FREE FREEEEEEEEEEEE Cons: NONE

Pros: Easy Interface Cons: Warning System
I believe that AOL instant messenger service is simply the best out there right now. AIM has several competators such as ICQ and Yahoo, but none of them have the simple interface that AIM features. With new AIM version 4.0 i can now do more things then...

Pros: cost (free), reliability, ease-of-use, large userbase Cons: User interface redesign worsened the interface
AOL Instant Messenger is a free, reliable, easy-to-use instant messaging program. It competes with Yahoo Messenger (http://im.yahoo.com), Windows Messenger (http://messenger.microsoft.com), and ICQ (http://www.icq.com). The...
