Yes.. Most popular, but quite annoying.

by Nephthys_1 , Feb 02 '00
Pros: Stated in Review
Cons: Stated in Review
I was an avid ICQ user sometime ago and I thought it was the best program to stay connected with people. Yes, it is quick and easy, but it lacks some features that I think is necessary to promote making friends. Look at Odigo, for instance, that allows...

by bib_fortuna , Oct 30 '00
Pros: Instant communication
Cons: Annoying sounds, long numbers
My friend has been bugging me to download ICQ for the longest time, and a couple days ago, I finally relented. It took me 40 minutes to download the program, but it was worth it.

ICQ is an instant messaging program, similar to AOL, MSN or...

by lynnmacd , Feb 29 '00
Pros: A Worthy System of Communication
Cons: Not Irritating-Hacker-People Proof
I am most certainly a person who can attest to the pros and cons of ICQ. Overall, I see mostly good, however, the bad can be pretty bad.

A friend recommended ICQ to me last year and I have been hooked since. I doubt very seriously that I...

Pros: different ways to chat, easy layout
Cons: a little slow, not much in the line of voice chat
I've had ICQ for quite a while now and it has become my most reliable and favourite chat utility. This program is so great because it has many different ways to chat, the layout is very simple, and you can easily send files back and forth.

ICQ is so hard to use because it uses Number as screenname.

I heard about ICQ from a friend, i signed up for ICQ because he said that it would be better the AIM. Boy, was he wrong! ICQ is much worst then AIM because when you send a message,...

ICQ is great!

by kenray , Feb 02 '00
Pros: A lot of features
Cons: sometimes slow to send
If you're looking for a chat program that has it all, you've got to try ICQ. It has just about every feature imaginable, although it does lack some features that other chat programs have. I've been using it for about 2 years now, and I've never had a...

Yah, it's more universal, but is that worth the trouble?

by Brainboy69 , Apr 07 '00
Pros: Universally used world wide
Cons: very hard to figure out interface, not readily usable by the layman
I may not be an expert on online entertainment. I mainly use the net as a business tool than anything, but do tend to sometimes stray to the more leisurely aspect of the web. I have been using AOL's AIM for a while now, but decided at one point...

MY FIRST...

I've been doing real-time on-line chat since about 1988. I've used QuantumLink (predecessor of AOL), Bitnet Relay, IRC, MUDs, Java chats on the web and of course one-on-one chat through programs like the UNIX "talk" command.

I also...
