| It is an audio program that gives you the functionality of a mini-studio on your desktop computer. Cool edit is essentially a program that focuses on sound file manipulation, whether to prep a track up for a burn, to create mp3s, to translate one audio format to another, or to do live recordings with. It's a very simple program, simple b/c everything is built into it, and it doesn't need the top of the line computer to do its magic. It runs on all windows platform machines, at least 16 mb of ram, 20 mb of space, with 17 added on for the installation. If you plan on doing recording and listening to your work, you'll need of course a soundcard, speakers, and a mouse. Even though it's tiny, it allows you to put in reverbs, echoes, audio cleanup tools, specific manipulations to the sound files, and much more. It's an amazing program! |
