Pros: DUNNING allowed, No ads Cons: Survey, NY State Only, Now Charges
I am updating this review on Christmas Eve 2000 (12/24/00) since there have been major changes to the Blue Frog Internet service. Blue Frog Internet is not 100% free anymore. An annual charge of $25 will occure to new members.
I have been...

Pros: very low cost, high connection speed, no banners Cons: not completely free, spotty throughput, occasional hangups
It looks like the days of the truly "free" ISP are quickly drawing to a close. Giving away a service for free is not exactly a winning business model, especially without something to provide an income stream. So, think of Blue Frog as a "nearly free"...

Pros: No banners, no busy signals, great tech support Cons: iffy speed, no email forwarding, only in New York
Ok. My journey for free internet has approached the allusiveness of Ahab's quest for Moby Dick (or, for the lit-heads out there, scholars' searches for meaning in "Moby Dick").
A brief overview: I started with Alta Vista, long...

Pros: $25 per year vs. up to $22 per month Cons: It's not free, only NY, read on for more
It's not true that this service is a "free ISP". This is something to be aware of if you have clicked to find a free ISP and then clicked on Blue Frog Internet.
While it is not free, they charge $25 for the year. Now, this is a little over...

Pros: No downloads, No ad banners, fast connection! Easy sign up. Cons: NY State only. They supply the PW.
First off I just want to say that I have only tried this for about 5 days now. But so far I have nothing but great things to say. I will update as much as I need when I find new or unusual stuff. Only found 2 flaws in the system so far.
THE...

Pros: Almost free internet access Cons: No access in my area as of yet
I have written an epinion on "Bluefrog Internet" before, and now I would simply like to update some information:
• Blue Frog Internet is not quite free, but still a wonderful addition to the free internet business. Blue Frog has made...

Pros: Free, High Speed Access, Localized, No Banners Cons: You Must Take Time To Fill Surveys, Lack of Privacy
It has been said that here is no such thing as a free lunch. The same thing could be said for Internet access. It seems with every company claiming to offer free Internet access there is a catch. While competitors of Blue Frog place banners on the...

Pros: Fast, no annoying front-end, no ads, nearly free Cons: Occasionally disconnects after being connected for a period of time
If you’re like me, you hate to pay for Internet access… True, free ISP’s have a tendency to be slow, unreliable, ad-happy, and generally a pain in the butt. But you sure can’t beat the price, and for me, that’s one of the main deciding factors. I have...

Pros: Its Free Cons: Slow
I started using Blue Frog when I purchased my new computer a month ago. I started searching for a new ISP when NetZero wouldn't let me play a game because it took up the whole screen.
Blue Frog Internet attracted me because it was free (duh)....

Pros: Blue Frog Internet has pop mail,no banner adds and a good connection rate. Cons: It was free, but now charges a minimum annual fee.
I joined Blue Frog, because I could not stay connected to my regular paid ISP with my new computer. I have had a very good connection with Blue Frog Internet. I can stay on for a long time. I also like that they provide pop mail, and newsgroups, and no...

Pros: Never been cut off,no ads, great price, free service for 10 days after sign-up. Cons: Supposedly surveys to fill out, however I have never gotten one.
Blue Frog is our fifth ISP. Most of the others were free, but have bit the dust. I consider Blue Frog to be essentially free since it's only $25/year. The company is based in Rochester, New York and currently only serves New York State. We have been...

Pros: One of the few low cost sites left. Cons: Slow and get knock off sometime.Doesn't always delivers.
I place and order per-Promo in March 2001 and have not receive it although it has been promise many times. The site is slow and at times not dependable. It needs to stop and listen to its members or fall by its wayside like all other free ISP.FREE? 25.00...

it's good stuff
by steverz ,Sep 29 '03
Pros: cheap, fast, reliable Cons: haven't found any yet
Very rarely will I have to redial to connect to bluefrog, and it's always fast once i'm connected. It's only 5 bucks a month and it's much better than any of the 20 dollar a month isps i've tried before. I was going to get road runner untill i saw i could get dial up for this cheap, and i don't regret it. They also just installed great spam filters that keep junk mail from my inbox.
