Pros: easy to connect Cons: you have to occasionally click on ads
Who doesn't like to get something for nothing? I am certainly no exception to this homily. When I had a sudden income reduction, I nixed my current ISP in favor of a free one. I figured I could put up with that browser at the top. It couldn't be that...

Pros: free, earn points, easy to use Cons: banner, disconnects sometimes
As I am trying out the free ISP's, I stumbled across MyPoints, while surfing their home page. MyPoints, for those who do not know, is a program where you earn points for reading their advertisements, visiting websites, and more. Once you earn a certain...

Pros: Beats paying for internet access, you can earn prizes while you surf (you really can, I did) Cons: You still have to live with an ad banner
MyPoints free internet access is yet another offering by 1st Up, a provider of ad-supported free internet service. This free ISP portal—like others—is brought to you on the backs of advertisers who hawk their wares through a small window that remains...

Pros: Fairly reliable Cons: Disconnects without warning
12/7/00 - I am editing this because MyPoints.com no longer offers free internet access.
Mypoints is another ISP that uses 1st. Up software. I have 5 local dial up numbers and usually connect on the first try. One great function of the dial up...

Pros: FREE! Cons: need to click once in a while
When I first went online I stayed clear of any "snake oil" sales men. I payed for the internet access I enjoyed and kept my nose clean from any earn and click programs. Then I got the bill.
I could not justify spending $20.00 a month...

Pros: Fast Download Speed, Reliable Connection Cons: Annoying Pop-ups, Undocking Banner Bar
I have been resisting trying out the free ISP market because of an article I read that pretty much trashed them all. However, since I don't have my own computer, I decided in deference to those that are kind enough to let me borrow their equipment, I...

Pros: Earn points while surfing the net Cons: Rather big ad bar
I was really leary about trying a free ISP. Afterall, you get what you pay for. Right? In this case I would say wrong.
I was trying to navigate around on AOL one night, getting more, and more frustrated. I was constantly getting stuck, and...

Pros: Connection Speed Cons: Require click on advertisement
Too bad this thing went belly-up. It provided me with a pretty stable access to the internet for free. It connected me at a pretty good speed (53k average). I have used Netzero and Yahoo!, which in comparison I could not get connected on the first try...

Ok, well, you don't get cash. And well, you don't get much. But...if you are a member of mypoints, and don't want to pay for your internet service, this is the way to go.
MyPoints is another one of those sites that give you points for signing...
