  • Bye bye Wordpad, I have a new love now...

    Aug 26 '00
Pros: Does everything I wanted from Wordpad and more, and is efficient in its use of the computer's resources.
Cons: Uhmmm... Ctrl-B toggles wordwrap instead of bold?

Summary: Since I posted a review of MS Wordpad, I've found a new text editor which makes Wordpad pale by comparison. No longer are HTML and CGI files associated with Wordpad for ease of use. Indeed, html files no longer need be associated with anything bar a web ... read more

  • Notepad who?

    Dec 13 '00
Pros: Easy to use, Excellent search and replace features, VERY Cheap
    Cons: None

Summary: Notepad - Who needs it!?! Out of all the shareware and freeware text editors that there are on the market today (believe me, there are ALOT of them!) the only postcardware program beats them all! That's right, postacardware! To register the program, ... read more

    Nov 26 '00
    Pros: CUSTOMIZATION & UNLIMITED FILESIZE
    Cons: ...none whatsoever...

Summary: EditPad is the best text file editor, BAR NONE. It has been down in my system tray for about as long as I've had Windows and I truly believe it is the IDEAL replacement for Windows' crummy "Notepad." I use it DAILY, as often as I type. So I'm ... read more

Cons: um... well, it doesn't come bundled with Windows, if you consider that a con.... and it's only available for Windows

    Oct 23 '00
Pros: Small, fast, easy to use
Cons: Interface takes some getting used to, lacks certain power features

Summary: Looking for a text editor that's more functional than Notepad, but isn't packed with all the frills of some of the other editors reviewed at epinions? Well, look no further than EditPad. The best way to describe this program is lean, yet ... read more

Pros: No fuss, saves files as .html
    Cons: Works only with Windows

Summary: Background For those unfamiliar with NotePad, it is a word processing program that comes with Microsoft Windows. It comes in handy when you need to jot down notes, web addresses, HTML snippets, quotes and other small items, and you don't have ... read more

  • The Arnold of Text Editors

    Dec 03 '99
Pros: small, easy, great features, mini word processor for text files, free except cost of postcard
    Cons: NONE

Summary: Windows Notepad, the default text editor, does an OK job of letting you manipulate text files. It opens one file at a time, and has a default font, and the ability to print. BORING! I was just looking around for something, and stumbled on ... read more
