Pros: Comes automatically with Windows. Cons: Features limited.
Notepad is awesome. I use it to edit and grab HTML source code. If you try doing it Word, it noremally does all sorts of formatting junk to it, and you don't end up getting a webpage. (Well, the way you designed it, at least.)
