| abs1's Full Review: Archos Jukebox Recorder 20GB MP3 Player |
This is absolutely the best mp3 player/recorder out there hands down. It has features and interfaces that the other ones don't have yet. As I began to study all my choices for personal players/rec, this one stood out because of what it can do. It beat out its competition because they lacked the features for recording with sound engineering in mind. Example, there is a SPDIF digi interface for recording from digi audio sound sources. The only draw back is that it only supports the MP3 format, but the sound quality is still good. Plus, the Jukebox recorder is absolutely fun. Here is what I did with mine. I went online and updated the firmware with Rockbox, got a mic pre-amp from the Sound Professionals, and a Sony Stereo Microphone. This setup is compact and complete for fun and serious recording and fielding for sounds. All in all this device could be used for many applications for recording, and it can be used as a music jukebox and computer data storage. I take mine with me everywhere and never leave home without it!
