BabyMajesty.com offers a wide range of infant and child bedding, furniture, accessories, strollers, carseats, and gifts. They have a variety of familiar brand-name products by Graco, Evenflo, Laura Ashley, Kimberly Grant, DaVinci, and Sherman. I found their prices to be some of the best among Internet-based businesses that specialize in baby/nursery items, and the selection appeared to be good, but not spectacular.
Our first child is due in June of 2003, and in late April 2003 I decided I needed to order the rest of the crib linens, being that many of them cannot be delivered in less than 6 weeks no matter where they are purchased.
The nursery "theme" is Laura Ashley's Seaside, and after doing some research I found that BabyMajesty.com had the best prices and a good selection of the products for which I was searching. I placed my order on April 22, 2003, for one crib bumper and one matching lampshade for a total of $106.15.
Ease of Ordering
I had few problems ordering online at BabyMajesty.com. It was easy to add the items to the online shopping cart, however, when it came time to check-out, there was no way to get to your shopping cart if you were on the home page or browsing. The only way I found to get to the check-out was to add an item to my cart and then delete it before paying.
I was very pleased that BabyMajesty.com allowed me to pay with PayPal rather than a credit card.
Customer Service (or lack thereof)
One week after having placed my order, I had not received any kind of order confirmation or payment confirmation from BabyMajesty.com; I had only received my receipt from PayPal.com. I first attempted to contact them via e-mail simply because I wanted to make sure that they had received my order information; I knew that they had received my money because it cleared my bank the day after I placed the order. When I received no reply after 2 days, I e-mailed them again at the e-mail address the website provides. 3 days later, no reply. For the following 2 weeks, I called the so-called "customer service" phone number; I was never able to speak with a human, only an answering machine. I left detailed messages every time, and still received no replies.
3 weeks after having placed my order and hearing nothing back from Baby Majesty, I was infuriated and filed a complaint with PayPal, who is now attempting to obtain a reply or refund for me.
While I realize that special order linens can take up to 10 weeks to be delivered, I was far more concerned with the lack of customer service from BabyMajesty.com. If you are in the market for infant and child linens, I recommend that you purchase them through a more reliable online store with excellent customer service, such as Nursery Depot.
