Review over 7 years old (Reply to this comment)

This review is outdated. The management style of Hobbytron is not as ethical as it was when Freak369 wrote their review. I would be curious if Frea369 had any recent dealings with Hobbyton and would still give such a glowing novel review.

This review is no longer true (Reply to this comment)

Maybe this review was true in 2003, but no longer. I just bought two airguns from them, one malfunctioned immediately. They would not replace it or refund the money. They DON'T guarantee what they sell and you can forget about customer service. There is none. Search the web to see innumerable horror stories about hobbytron.com.

Imitation products and a No Returns policy (Reply to this comment)
by johnjf_78
They may tell you that their policy is 100% satisfaction guarantee but when I tried to return something that quit working in a matter of minutes I was told that their policy is not to accept ANY returns. It turned out that what I bought wasnt even a genuine product. I bought the RC flying saucer for my nephew and it was a knock off of the real thing being passed as the XFO. When I called and told them that it only worked for less than 5 min before quitting completely they told me that they dont accept returns.
I ordered other things at the same time that also had problems and didnt work. It seems all they sell is either imitations and factory rejects.

Have you read any of the numerous complaints about this company from Octo-2006 through present? Many of us have filed with consumer protection agency's and attorney general's offices, in response to this company's ignorant business practices. Several folks are seeking legal avenues. I fear your recommendation may give new consumers an unfair assessment of this firms practices and suggest you attempt to do business with them again in order to determine if you glowing review is still accurate. That's doubtful, giving the huge number of people that have sacrificed personal time to get the real word out on these folks.

This review should be stuck on the bottom (Reply to this comment)

This is only one of the few reviews that are positive for this company, and its 3 YEARS OLD!!!! This company has completely gone downhill and this report should not be on the top when you search for hobbytron.

Re: Does NOT stand behind product (Reply to this comment)
by Freak369, in Online Stores & Services
The review was written in May of 2003.
If they changed their policy I can't do anything about it.
Just as Epinions states at the bottom of their pages:
"Epinions.com periodically updates pricing and product information from third-party sources,
so some information may be slightly out-of-date. You should confirm all information before relying on it."
One should read the fine points of a site before ordering.
I have never had a single problem with HT that they haven't resolved with an email.

Does NOT stand behind product (Reply to this comment)

HobbyTron does NOT accept returns on products that do not work if you have opened the package. They are extremely slow in customer service.
They don't seem to care too much after they get your money

This review must be completely out of date-no longer helpful. (Reply to this comment)

Maybe three years ago this glowing review was true, but none of the good things that were said about them are still the case. This company is clearly bad news, as any review written in the last year or two will attest.
This review contains inaccurate information about their returns policy (which currently is one of the worst that exist anywhere on the internet) and is also completely incorrect about their level of customer service. They never respond to emails and there is no way to get through to a live person. If you have a problem, which is highly likely, they will simply ignore you. If you order something, they will charge your credit card immediately but may not ship it for a month or two, if ever. Of course, they will never tell you this, so you are left wondering and sending emails that never get answered during that time.
It's sad to think that this company might once have deserved such a glowing review, because now they are simply a nightmare to deal with. Hobbytron deserves to go out of business and I hope they do.

Yeah and it was written over two years ago ... your point?
If you are going to order from a site without going there to read over their policies then it's your own fault if you get screwed on something.

This review gives wrong information about Hobbytrons return policy. The following is cut right from the Hobbytron website:
PLEASE NOTE: Items returned to us without an RMA# will be refused. Items returned to us with an RMA# must be received within 30 days of the RMA issuance, and will be refunded appropriately within 10 business days. Please allow up to two billing cycles for your refund to appear on your credit card statement. A returned item with damaged caused by you will receive at most a 20% refund, will immediately be discarded, and you may be subject to a $30 per hour administration charge and prosecution for mail fraud. Attempting to do a credit card chargeback for returns not in compliance with our policies will incur an administration fee of $50 per chargeback. We are not responsible for shipping charges or return shipping charges on defective or returned items unless you receive the wrong item or are missing an item from your order. If we warrantee the item directly then we will pay the shipping charges to send you the repaired or replacement item.

Return Policy (Reply to this comment)
by bde0295
Hobbytron's website says any item returned without an RMA will be denied. I am not sure why you are saying you can just send the item back. Any buyer should read the return policy very carefully, If the product you purchased is defective Hobbytron want's you to call the manufacturer, they want nothing to do with it.
