| AAEMH's Full Review: Logitech Camera Family |
I have been a logitech (quickcam) user for probably about 8 or 9 years now. I first started off with the greyscale, and within a few months moved up to the color camera, then quickcam II, and for the last 2 or 3 years, the quickcam pro. Unfortunately, when I got the quickcam II, I made the mistake of buying one refurbished, and it only lasted for two years.
Since I got my first cam, I have always been an avid teleconferencer, using especially cuseeme and icuii. I have never had any complaints about the video quality. I have even used the camera to send family pictures and video, and was complimented on the quality. I find that the quickcam pro has really increased the quality of pictures and video, compared to their first color camera. It is extremely easy to use and hook up to a computer.
I have dealt with other people who have other cameras from the quickcam family, and I find that they quality is not nearly as good as the pro.
As far as Logitech cameras go, I would only recommend the pro if someone is looking for excellent quality in their pictures or videos.
When the pro first came out, I believe it was around the $200 mark. At that time, I bought it new at auction for $70, which to me was a better price to pay, considering that even the quickcam II was around this price.
I know people have posted here about lack of software to use with it, but that is totally incorrect.
I have been very happy with the logitech cams, and hope they continue making them, especially cams like the pro.
