Pros: That stellar Honda reputation
Cons: You're officially one of the Jones'
The Bottom Line: 4 1/2 stars! A great car, good acceleration, you'll have more fun if you do some upgrading...(but why do I still miss my Golf?)

| driverfound's Full Review: 2003 Honda Civic 2 door |
I betrayed a best friend. My 2000 VW Golf. Had to do it though. It was like having one of those really fun friends that are just too high maintenance. There comes a time when you simply cannot afford to keep them around.
The Civic is ol' reliable. I got the EX and rolled up about $2000 in negative equity to get out of my finance to VW. I figure I'll save that by keeping the VW out of the shop. The Civic however doesn't have that German pizzazz, no matter what you hard-core Honda drivers say.
I added some thicker tires to the little 15" alloys (would have liked it with 16s), and spent about $550.00 replacing the lackluster radio and speakers. I highly recommend the Alpine 9805 and a set of Infinity Reference speakers. Very nice!
It's almost as much fun as the Golf, albeit not as cool, and I'm not burning my own hole in the ozone. Well, not as big of one anyways.
