| azneinstein's Full Review: Thomson Consumer Electronics RCA CC 6262 VHS-C Cam... |
I actually bought this camera from some woman selling it on craigslist for $20 bucks. At first glance, the stickers indicated a slim body, which I believe it does have, a "color" viewer, which it also has, and a 50X zoom. When I first used it, I was very surprised by it, the color that displayed on the TV weren't HDTV quality, but it was pretty good. It works great with outdoors, and okay in a room with regular lighting. However, it doesn't have a light, so it sucked in places that doesn't have too much lighting. With a 50X zoom, it's pretty good, it just doesn't react that fast though. The battery wasn't the best, I don't think it uses lithium, but the NiCd battery instead. Even though I bought it without the manual, it was pretty straightfoward on how to use it, assuming that you have used a camcorder before. The buttons aren't placed at the best places but the camcorder still remains very easy to use. Also, it's kind of hard use the play/pause/stop/ff/rw buttons while using the VCR mode since you can't seem them while playing them (no lcd) but you can get use to it. So my conclusion, for $20 bucks, it was a steal. It's not that bad, but I wouldn't pay over $100 for it, anything over a hundred, just save it and wait for a better one.
