Bluetooth SD Card in Tungsten C (Reply to this comment)
by sigit
Good review! Just missed one thing that my Palm SD card bluetooth can't not be activated in my Tungsten C (stated in PalmOne that Bluetooth SD Card has no driver for OS 5.2.1!! - otherwise it will be really a great PDA to my needs).

Anyway, I will be glad if you have a suggestion on this problem. thanks.

I am looking at Palm Tungsten C's on Ebay and this was an excellent review!

Finally time to hang up my Palm III, with 2 megs of memory!
thanks -

The Ultimate Review . . . Yes! (Reply to this comment)

Since my Handspring Visor Deluxe has gone to PDA heaven or purgatory, I've been shopping for its replacement. Thanks to this review, I know it won't be the Palm Tungsten C. Now that I know there is sound available, I won't give that up. Also, my Visor was bulky and so is this.

Thanks for an very in-depth review. You know how to write those tech reviews.

I wish more reviewers would be so thorough! Great review, covered ground nicely. It was very gracious of you to refer to the other review. You're an MVP of reviewers in my book!

Personal experience is what is most lacking on other reviews, and if I could give you an MH, I would, too. :)

Thanks...

I'm actually trying to type up my next review on the Tungsten C keyboard... It will be on the Animatrix and should be posted soon.

I'm not sure why my performance was so slow as well... maybe the equipment in the Starbuck's I was in... maybe my location in the cafe. I had a conference in a Four Seasons for a day and I found load time cut to less than half of what I was getting at the Starbucks I was at. I'll have more of a chance to test it when I get my broadband connection set up with my wireless router and when I go up to a medical conference at a Four Seasons in Newport Beach in California.

I referred to your review since I thought it was so well written and deserved to be seen by anyone considering a Tungsten C. You've added things to your review that I don't have the time to set up properly... especially the pictures and videos. Those were great additions.

And you mentioned a few things I didn't think of, so yes, I think our two reviews are quite complementary. Thanks for the link to mine.

I wonder why web pages were loading for you so slowly at Starbucks? For example, you mention that Palm's special Tungsten C optimized web page took 2 minutes? I assume you're talking about http://www.palm.com/webbrowserpro? It took mere seconds on mine, also in a cafe. If you look at my video (see link from http://conrad.st/) around 2:58, you'll see it comes up essentially instantly, so I think I must have had it cached, but I remember the first time it still only took a at most 5 seconds (there's not much to it). Right after that part in the video you'll see I go to Palm's "normal" home page, and even that loads and comes up in just seconds.

Anyway, have fun with yours. As I've said in my review, I'm still undecided. I wish it were closer in size to my m500, among other things.

Cheers,
Chad
