Central Digital appeared to have a solid price and their reasonable shipping is what pointed me in their direction. Now I wish I would have paid the extra 15-20 bucks to go with another vendor with less competitive shipping costs. The on line ordering system is primitive at best, it took over 3 days just to display I was actually doing business with this company. By the time you see order status the product is well on its way. I did read other reviews about Fedex not being able to deliver without a signature, since I live in a great area I have a release with FEDEX to leave packages, I've never had a problem, but I called FedEx to see if they would have a problem delivering this package and they informed me the label looked standard as it appeared to the operator and the package should be left, but there was a sticker from Central Digital that did not give the driver the capability to leave this package. This label is placed on the package to protect you, I understand this, but if I knew someone truly needed to sign for the package I could have sent the package to my office, so the two day premium shipping that I paid resulted in an extra two days trying to chase the FedEx man around.
Finally, I picked up the DVD player on Friday afternoon and I broke it out of the box with the hope to use it on our road trip this weekend. There is an adapter that connects to the unit, but no piece to plug into the wall....okay I'll call Central Digital for assistance, but they're already closed by 2pm on Fridays...need I say more. I contacted Panasonic and let them know that it appears from looking at the manual that the AC piece I need isn't even listed in the accessories included although they feel this doesn't sound correct they tell me I should check with the retailer. After a 30 minute hold to speak with someone, I'd hope Panasonic customer service would understand what should be in the box, but they could not tell me what this interesting looking adapter that did attach to the AC portion was for, it was not the overseas plug and of course was not described in the owners manual. Panasonic said that they would get right back to me and have an answer for me this evening, it's now 9:50pm...thanks for everything Central Digital....I can always call them on Sunday, forgot customer service is open then either. I can only speak with someone on Sunday if I'm buying something. This was a horrible experience that I still have more of my time and energy to resolve. Since my time is worth $50/hour, it would be nice to charge Central Digital for the extra time and headache they've caused me.
Stay tuned.....DJC
