I can back up this comment. I am purchasing a home and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage is a great choice! There is an article in SmartMoney magazine (i think nov. 2002)that refers to Washington Mutual as the "bank from hell." After reading it, you may want to look elsewhere :-)

I used Wells Fargo recently and had good luck with them. They had very good customer service. Good luck on your search...
