| bros's Full Review: General Reviews of Cingular Wireless Customer Serv... |
As a 50+ citizen getting my own cell phone for the first time, I walked into a Cingular store in 2001 and bought a plan with the cheapest phone, an Ericsson A1228d. Store staff were very helpful. The phone is plain and a bit heavy, but seems indestructible. Although there are few features, what is there works well. The sound quality is excellent, connectivity is quick and I've lost the signal only a couple of times while traveling state to state, and then in mountains. In 2002 I switched to Cingular Nation and have thoroughly enjoyed that plan.
We've called Customer Service 2 or 3 times and have been satisfied with the support each time, including a bill adjustment.
Upgrading to a fancier phone will be my next step. I don't doubt the negative comments by others, but I believe Cingular must be addressing customer service issues, because I have talked with helpful and courteous people in 2002 and 2003.
