Pros: Attractive bottle.
Cons: Almost everything about it is a Con.
The Bottom Line: I truly wanted to like this product, but when it failed the one test I was interested in, I decided not to use it again.

| lorace's Full Review: Kaboom Shower, Tub and Tile Cleaner |
Ive heard so much about Oxi-Cleans Kaboom that I had to try it for myself. Not that I didnt need something take an old porcelain bathtub that saw years of childrens baths, teenagers baths, but now sits lonely and forlorn and youll understand my needs!
I happen to love our shower and so does hubby, so with no one else around very often, Mr. Bathtub quietly sits there while the hard water rusts in the pipes. And the jawbone connected to the neckbone, the water drips now and then and leaves a gorgeous patch of rust on him that fairly screams to be taken care of.
Ive tried many, many products, some good, some bad, but the problem remains. So why not try Kabooming it?
The Bottle
The bottle is a gorgeous deep purple with Kaboom exploding across the front of it. Yellow letters and a purple trigger top set in a gaudy green, and youve got the picture. You couldnt miss it.
It cost me only $3.87 for 22 fl. Oz. in Wal-Mart, and I found its online for $12.99 for 32 fl. Oz.
The front of the bottle tells us we can clean easy and breathe easy. Oh? Hmmm. Besides the fact that the label should have used the adverb easily, it doesnt understand my basic metabolism.
The Attack on Mr. Bathtub
Dont move, I told him. Your pain will soon be gone.
I twisted the green nozzle toward spray and got ready to shoot him with novacaine. Nothing happened. I pumped some more and finally got a little drizzle of foam splattered on his sensitive spot.
Come on, he cried, youve got to be kidding. This suspense is killing me.
Me, too, I shouted angrily as I choked, hacked and sneezed. I hated the smell and also the fact that the durned trigger was so hard to pull.
The directions tell me to wait a few minutes and then wipe it clean. Hah! I did and noticed nothing. Mr. B. sighed.
To make a long story short, I finally learned to work the trigger, using both hands, so that I got a sizable amount of foam (right in his face) in little dabs, here and there, scrubbing after each application and rinsing it down. I even sprayed the tile wall and rinsed it down.
Hes smiling now! Just a little relieved grin, but Im pooped! It took maybe TEN times of the above actions, along with plenty of Loraces special elbow grease to get him looking as pain free as he does. (and hes still not perfect, but dont tell HIM that!)
I gathered up my bottle of Kaboom and my brush and prepared to leave him alone with his miserable little thoughts.
Dont wait so long next time, he shouted after me as I left the bathroom.
What a sorehead he is. No wonder I prefer the shower.

Warnings
Harmful if swallowed. Gulp! I was afraid to return and check on Mr. B. as I was sure hed swallowed some of the stuff. But I had rinsed him so well that I knew hed be okay.
There are quite a few warnings on the label concerning skin irritations and the ventilation factor. I probably should have read these first, as I reacted very poorly to my tussle with Mr. Bathtub.
Uses for and on: (from the bottle)
Bathroom & shower fixtures & sinks
Bathtubs & shower stalls & tile & countertops
Soap scum, dirt, hard water buildup, Calcium & Lime stains, Rust stains, grout.
My Recommendations
I dont recommend this product to anyone with a weak constitution. While I love Oxi-Clean, I feel that Kaboom Shower, Tub & Tile Cleaner is greatly over-rated.
Ive used other products on rust stains that didnt involve as much work as I put in with Mr. Bathtubs problems. Neither did I have such adverse reactions with other products.
Sorry, Mr. B., next time well try sandblasting. It should be a lot easier on you.
Thanks for reading my review I hope it has helped you.
