| charlesdavison's Full Review: Nokia 3310 GSM Cellular Phone |
This phone is obviously meant to be the successor to the 3210. It looks vaguely similar but is a little smaller and quite a bit lighter, perfect for carrying in any pocket. It also feels nicer and more durable than the 3210, has much better reception and battery life, and a host of other useful features.
The reception was better in some places than my Nokia 7110, even though the 3310 has the internal aerial so that it is easier for carrying around... And battery life is quite good for a phone in its category, needing only one charge a week at some points. I found that I usually had to recharge the 3210 every day.
The 3310 also has vibration alert, reminders (type in a short message and the day and time you want to be reminded of it), and some of the best games I have seen on mobile phones. The best of these is Space Impact, but all are quite a good improvement over the 3210. You can play these games on the Nokia website at www.nokia.com.
Other features are the Chat, where you use SMS text messages in a style that resembles internet chatrooms, although this is a way of spending lots of money without realising it... You can also write long text messages: what really happens is that on phones other than the 3310 the message is separated in up to 3 separate SMS messages and linked. So in reality you are just sending several messages.
Other less useful features are the screensavers, which replace the operator logos with large icons, several empty ringtone spaces and a stopwatch and timer.
