Pros: Graphics, special effects, music, handling
Cons: Fictitious cars and slightly annoying characters.
The Bottom Line: Great racing game makes an even better street racing game. Effects, graphics, music, and general gameplay make this one of the best games of the year.

| SYCO's Full Review: Midnight Club II for PlayStation 2 |
Midnight Club II is the sequel game to playstation 2's original Midnight Club. Produced by Rockstar San Diego, it touts some stunning new effects and graphics that will make you're screen bleed.
So you want to become a street racer? You meet up with a fat boy in a rice burner of a car and light em up. This is your initiation of sorts. After that, you keep running after more challenging opponents, picking up new cars and new tricks along the way.
The game physics are very nice, the cars lift off, drop, and crash in fairly reasonable ways. The music while limited to classic electronica and techno tunes is excellent for driving and adds to the game quite a bit. The nitrous and Slip Stream Turbo boosts that you can gain never really get old. Every time the switch is flipped it creates a rush of blood to the head. Blurring the surroundings and rocketing your vehicle of choice down the lane.
With level upon level of racing excitement this Fast and the Furious cousin drives hours into days of excellent gameplay.
