According to TV-Cards.com this PCI card is superior to the USB version of WIN TV. Because the USB version's USB connection lacks the bandwidth and is forced to compress the video. Thus during compression some quality is lost.
I use Windows XP and had no trouble with installation. The controls were very easy to use in the TV viewing software. You simply plug in a coaxial or s-video cable and your all set. You can also make the TV viewing window any size you like while you surf the inter-net.
Some other reviews noted that if you use a satellite receiver you will need to change the channel through the receiver and the channel changer on the computer will be useless. But this is common sense, computers aside, if you have satellite you cannot change the channel through your TV you must use the satellite controller.
My purpose in purchasing this product was to turn my analog home videos into digital videos, so I can easily edit them on my computer (of course you need editing software). So far this has fit the bill; I can record onto the computer at very high quality (M-PEG 2 12MB/Sec) or as low as I would like (handy for E-mail).
This product is also great to for turning your computer into a digital VCR or for viewing TV. You can even use a convenient scheduler it comes with to recored your shows when your not around. No need to worry about having a blank tape in the VCR.
