Bidbay is a great new auction site. I admit they were a little slow in the beginning but I stuck around due to no listing fees. I got tired of Ebay charging for listing and selling. Then Ebay raises the listing fees and charges for listing something for 10 days.
I have a worldstore with bidbay. A worldstore allows me to have no listing fees for one year when they start charging listing fees. It also allows me to have a store banner. You will see all the different sellers that have banner on the very top of the page.
Bidbay is really easy to navigate and the customer service is wonderful. They even give you a phone number where an actual person will answer and help you. The CEO is outstanding and is very involved with the members of bidbay.
As a seller my sells have been getting better and it is picking up. I believe that is due to a lot of Yahoo users coming to bidbay due to Yahoo charges now. So the bidbay community is growing strong.
I also have made lots of friends on Bidbay through the chat boards. Everyone is so friendly and is always willing to help out.
Oh yeah I said that they give prizes didn't I? Yes they do. I know because I have won the prizes several times.
1. Bidbay Billy: he is a little Cowboy dude that hides in random auctions when you find him click on him and he will tell you how much you won. Simple? Yes, it can be but that little bugger can really hide when he wants to. Cash prizes on this is $1, $5, $10, $20, and even $100.
2. Enter the weekly contest. You can win on this contest once every 4 months (I believe). You enter the different categories: bidders over $1, Bidder under $1, dutch sellers, sellers, and I know I am missing one or two but you get the picture.
Now if you are the highest in a category you win. For instance if you listed the most in a week period Wednesday 4PM to Tuesday 4PM then you win. Or if you bid on the most items in a weeks period (reserve auctions do not count) then you win. Normally the first place winner in each category will win $100 (but other prizes have been given ie: tv/vcr or a printer).
Then they do a random drawing in each category for a second place winner and that person gets $50. Then combining all the participants in a random drawing for a Sony Mavica digital camera (thats my goal to win).
In this particular contest so far I have won three times. I first won a printer which I desperately needed, then a TV/VCR, and then $100. Now you tell me another auction site that does all that.
Not only are the prizes great but the auction portion is also. It is easy to bid and sell. They even offer images hosting and will pay you to use it. I think it is $0.25 for every 100 views if you use them on other auction sites like Yahoo and Ebay.
Anyways I can go on and on about this site. I think I mentioned the major parts. Check out the site yourself you will be glad you did and you will meet a great bunch of people.
