When it comes to shopping/paying for the items it's very easy. I ordered one pair of khaki's from oldnavy.com and received them defective. They pay the shipping if you need to send them back (which was VERY nice), so I sent them back for an EXCHANGE. I saw they had credited my checking account for the shipping charge (which was VERY nice). A few weeks later I received my replacement pair but decided that I didn't want them anyways. (By this time I had found a pair locally that I liked). When I RETURNED that pair I checked daily waiting for the money to be refunded to my checking account (like before) and I never got a credit after weeks had gone by. After some time, I finally called their customer service number and told the woman my situation and she acted dumbfounded. After a few minutes of her "umm-ing, and hmmm-ing" she came up with "Oh! they will send you a check for the pair you returned, it won't be refunded to your account" (Though I thought it was odd, I accepted it). She told me my check hadn't yet been sent out (but would be within the next few days) and this was a month after I had returned the pants. About another month later I received a check.
