Slot A cpus are no longer being made. Soon only used cpus will be available for upgrades. Good budget system.

Re: How's about you write about boards that work with t-bird? (Reply to this comment)

If you have experience with slot a t-birds how about writing an article discussing which boards you've found to work? I've got the epox ep7kxa. On the 7kxa Epox newsgroup some people can make it work and some people can't. Some people can make a 950 or faster cpu work in their boards and others can't. It seems to be related to where some parts of the chipset were manufactured at least in the case of the Epox product. Put your money where your mouth is.

Good review but... (Reply to this comment)

I have upgraded several different motherboards using the AMD750 and VIA KX133 chipsets from older Athlon processors to Slot-A Thunderbirds and have only had a few that had any problems. These few boards were easily "fixed" with a simple BIOS flash.

The only problems I have seen are stability problems and as I said, a BIOS flash can fix that.
