| aedmband21's Full Review: Hewlett Packard PSC 2175 Thermal Inkjet Multifunc... |
I am 18 years old, and I will be attending college in the fall of 03. It was time for me to buy a printer. I thought to myself what I would need, and what I wouldn't need. The 2175 suits me perfectly, it will do about 18 pages per minute in draft mode, and about 7ppm in regular mode for black printing. Color about 13 pages per minute on draft mode, and about 4 pages per minute on regular. I wouldn't need anything faster than that for doing my basic printing.
This is the part that suprised me, the photo quality I get out of this printer. It has optomized 4800 dpi with the optional 58 cartridge with 6 color printing. The photos are excellent. The built in photo slots and the proof sheets compliment this printer well.
Notice I said proof sheets, for the people that dont know what this technology is, what you do is put in your digital camera media card, and the 2175 prints you out a sheets of pictures that were on your camera, but in a small form and on regular paper. You then can fill in this circles on this piece of paper on which pictures you want printed, how many sets, how big it prints, and if you want a border. You then scan this piece of paper and load your picture paper and it does it all for you without you configuring a thing. This is really nice for people who want to print pictures pc-free.
Everything on this printer was very easy to use, and the installation of the software and drivers went flawless. Hp even includes software that lets me recognize already printed typed text and bring them into Microsoft word and edit them.
Basically this printer has exactly what I need. It is small, which is great living in a tiny dorm. Doesnt give me a fax i dont need which would tack on another hundred dollars that the 2210 features. Yet has the photo slots that I will use unlike the 2110. Moderately priced, i still had to spent another 24.99 on a photo cartridge which also comes with a holder so your ink wont dry up. All in all, i have always loved hp all in ones, I am a electronics sales person at Officemax and I always sell HP all-in-ones.
I would love to tell you something that I dont like about this printer, but fortunately, for my needs, i can't find anything wrong with it. I highly recommend this printer.
