I first became a customer of GiftCertificates.com because I have any account with BabyMint.com. In theory, 5% of any purchase I make through GiftCertificates.com via BabyMint goes into my daughter's college fund. It's a nice theory, but their shipping charges are very high, so you might purchase several hundred dollars in gift certificates in order to make it worth purchasing. You can end up with a lot of gift certificates that you don't really need or won't use for several months.
More recently, I ordered some gift certificates to purchase some cell phones on Amazon.com. There was a rebate deal expired at midnight and I advised GiftCertificates.com that I needed the gift certificates emailed right away so I could take advantage of the phone rebate offer. When the gift certificates didn't arrive in a timely fashion, so I canceled the order before delivery. Nonetheless, the still emailed me the gift certificates. Despite the untimely delivery and despite my cancellation, they refused to removed the charges from my credit card. When decided to stop pressing the matter and use the gift certificates, Amazon.com says they are invalid! Avoid GiftCertificates.com like the plague.
