My main problem with Dell is their customer service.
I purchased a laptop computer from Dell around Christmas time and used their special financing. I have stellar credit and qualified with no trouble.
On the Web site there was NO place for me to choose which of the special financing deals I wanted to take advantage of, which was very frustrating.
I called customer service and spoke to a representative who obviously was speaking English as a second language (which I generally don't have a problem with), but once I was given the information I requested, I was shut down when I began to question.
The next contact was several months later. I received a bill after having paid the balance in full. I was of course irate because I wanted to be done with Dell once and for all. The representative (again English as a second language - are their call centers in India or something?) explained that they compute the finance charges based on average daily balance - a method that makes it impossible to pay your balance in full if you only pay what appears on the statement.
I asked what it would take to release me from Dell hell, sent the money in and refuse to do business with them ever again.
