You may not know it, but your computers security is always at risk of being broken into. With the ever growing threat of hackers probing around the 'net looking for an innocent computer they can access you can not take your internet safety for granted. Many people do not realize hackers will often just search for any computer they can break into for a cheap thrill ..this puts your computer at a big risk.

Zone Labs has made available the program ZoneAlarm, a freeware program for personal computer use. This program acts as a firewall between your computer and the internet building a forcefield around your computer. You control what data your computer will accept, what it will reply to, and what it will send out. For example: while running this software, hacker attempts or any other unauthorized pings or attempts to scan for open ports on your system would be completely ignored by your computer - as if your computer didnt exist! In this scenario, a hacker would most likely move on to an easier prey.

What I like about ZoneAlarm:
The most important factor here is that it does work, and not only that but its free as well. This program can be run completely stealth using the security settings you have set, its not in your way and your are protected.

What I don't like:
I find the interface to be very ugly..but hey its free, so i'm not going to complain. Other then that it is somewhat simple to install and use. More advanced users might find that this software lacks enough configuration ability, but the average person should find this software to be simple and do its job - therefore a must have.
