| gmancuso's Full Review: Nokia 6340i |
I got the 6340i phone for my wife. She loves this phone, since it is packed with features, and we only paid $30.00 for it through Cingular. Since she carries a purse, the size was not an issue for her, but I prefer a phone that can fit in my pocket.
I was impressed with all the features that came with it considering how cheap it was. She liked the downloadable ringer feature, voice activation features, calendar, and the easy to use Nokia menu system. Her dislikes were how hard it is to turn on/off the phone- you need two hands to do it since the on/off button is hard to operate at times. Of course she wanted polyphonic ringing, but that does not come with this phone; just the old monophonic ringing. Her other gripe was that it has no color screen- but for the price that was expected. On the downside, the first phone we purchased suffered terminal failure only after two weeks of use. Cingular took it back and replaced the phone under the Nokia warranty. Since then, there have been no problems with the phone.
Here in the Central Florida area, there does not seem to be too much of a problem with the signal strength- but there are times when calls are dropped, but I have experienced that with my Sprint PCS phone. Overall, I gave this phone a B+. It just can't be beat for the price and the amount of features it comes with, especially if size doesn't matter to you.
