| lorace's Full Review: Sterilite 62-Quart Hinged-Lid Storage Box 1915 |
When I bought this Sterilite® Hinged Lid Storage Box #1915 in the spring of 2002, I had no idea of just how wonderful it was, and I didnt even realize that it was a Sterilite® product.
All I knew was that it was beautiful and would be useful somewhere, though I didnt know where at that time.
It was on sale at Wal-Mart for only $6.97, and Im almost convinced that the price was mismarked, because it sells for more than that today in most places. No matter the price, its worth it.
The Specs
This storage box, though compact, is very large, for its listed as a 62-quart Storage Box. The actual measurements are: 21 ¼L x 17 W x 13 Deep.
Its constructed of a handsome frosted white, almost translucent, Lucite material. There are three country-blue hinges on either side of the top. This is where it gets so interesting.
The beautiful blue cover closes in the middle in a sort-of S configuration. Its so neat, because one side of the S drops into the other side of the S and your box is sealed and protected from the elements. Theres no hassle to this at all.
When you open the lid, each side will drop down flush with the sides of the box, so you have complete access to the space within.
Around the entire top of the translucent box, theres a molded hand grip area, plus a blue handle is molded into each of the ends. You will never have a problem lifting this storage box.
My Experience with this Storage Box
Like I said before, this box was so beautiful, that I had to have it. Our home is quite lacking in closet and storage space so, really, its no wonder that I have such a fetish for storage boxes and storage carts, etc.
Whats more, in my mind Im very organized, but getting my surroundings into a totally organized state, takes work and planning, and in my case, Sterilite® Storage Boxes
When July arrives in Arizona, its pool-time for those of us who dont have the luxury of heated pools. That means getting the pool in shape, getting the fallen leaves off the patio area, and getting our swim attire, goggles, towels, etc. outside.
Did I say towels? There was my answer to the storage box conundrum -- We have loads of large beach towels, which get put into the dark dungeons of somewhere during the winter. I dug deep, found them, and placed all of them in my Sterilite® Hinged Lid Storage Box #1915.
There was even room left for swim jackets, extra swimsuits and smaller bath towels. Proud of myself, I carried it outside and deposited it on the patio. This box is light, of course the weight is determined by what you choose to put in it. I wouldnt recommend bricks or anything.
Back to the subject, the storage box sat there on the patio all last summer, through the heat, the dust storms, the monsoons, the dogs shaking water off herself, and other adversities too numerous to mention.
To see it today, because Im taking it outside for this years summertime fun, youd think it was brand new. Honestly, there is not a mark on it and its as beautiful as the day I bought it. I kept it in the Rec. Room last winter, so I had no trouble finding the towels this year.
The box totally protected its contents from dust, dirt , heat and water. It was so easy to open/close & access that it was a marvelous addition to our patio area.
Closing Remarks
Im glad Ive discovered these marvelous Sterilite® Storage containers. Theyve made a real difference in our home. They are so well constructed, durable, and attractive, that youll wonder what you ever did without them.
You may not have a beach towel crisis in your home, but there are many places you could probably utilize one or two of these containers.
1. Christmas Ornaments
2. Blankets
3. Sheets and pillowcases
4. Video tapes equipment
5. Cleaning supplies
6. Hobby equipment
The list could go on and on, limited only by what you could dream up. I did buy a second one and use it to store the guestrooms sheets and blankets. This freed up my linen closet for holding more everyday items.
The Sterilite® 62 Quart hinged lid Storage Box #1915 is a marvelous item, made by a company who obviously cares about quality goods. Visit their Website youll be amazed at how many great and interesting products they manufacture.
I recommend this wonderful Storage Box very, very highly.
Thanks for reading my review. I hope its started you on the path to discovering what Sterilite® storage containers can do for you and your home! You will love them, too.
