I have ordered from Peapod a handful of times and overall I would rate my shopping experience as average. I have used their service more than once despite mediocre service because I live a fair distance from the grocery store and do not own a car. The service they offer is very convenient. I used to use Homeruns.com which was a great service, however they went out of business.
I would recommend using peapod for items other than produce. Their fruit and vegetables in particular are of poor quality. Twice I have ordered tomatoes and both times they have been rotten. Today I received a head of lettuce which was also rotten. I have not yet called to complain about the quality of their produce so I cannot comment on their customer service at this time. Their prices do not differ too much for regular grocery store prices and their delivery fee for orders over $100 is only around five dollars which, as far as I am concerned, is worth it for the convenience of having food delivered to your door. Most of the time, the delivery occurs within the time period reserved however several times they have been late and today they were early by half an hour. When they are late, however, I have received a phone call and the delivery fee has been waived. The delivery people are friendly, too.
