Pros: Can be expanded only if you eventually buy a new full size tower.
Cons: I have owned four emachines, the 533idx2,and the 600 emonsterx2. All of which has problems.
The Bottom Line: I think for someone who has absolutely no desire to get anything accomplished except surfing the web it is a good machine...

| cadaversociety's Full Review: eMachines eMonster |
This is the second emonster 600 I have owned in less than 4months and the fourth Emachine in less than a year, low and behold emachines sticks to their history of building a self destructive machine. Within the first month the good old Maxtor 20GB HDD already has two bad sectors. I brought the problem to Emachines tech support and they would like me to send the entire machine to them(that is about $100.00 s/h) so they can replace the HDD(hmm... I think I could remove it and send just the HDD to them). Needless to say, I went out and purchased a Western digital 30GB HDD to help out in case the Maxtor dies off completely. The graphics card does not even come close to performance, it just mundanely sat there idle when I attempted to play The Sims or Messiah causing the screen to freeze up and shutter(good old 8MB TnT2 NVidia graphics card with the ability to upgrade the drivers with the Detonator set from NVidia,HaaaHaaa that is if you want your system to crash and burn). With the worthlessness of that, I had to go out and get the GeForce 2 GTS 32MB graphics card to acheive performance. Well the ram is upgradeable(only to 256MB though)if you want to dish out the money for a new motherboard, processor, and tower. Keep in mind, the only reason I purchased four different machines is because I got trapped in the return/exchange only vortex. Ahh yes, I almost forgot to bring up the almighty tech support. Where oh where should I start, hmm, lets go with the theory of if you have hardware problems with your emachine you are expected to mail the entire tower to them(now that is a bit reasonable except that you have to pay the $100.00 plus expense to ship it). Next of all, the telephone support(oh my did I say support) the genius behind these people. If you manage to get through to them they more than likely will tell you to fdisk your system(at the time I had no idea what that was) not a very good idea because they caused me to rewrite and erase part of my bootup files. Their answer to this, well, mail the tower in so we can fix it,ahhhhhahahahaha, what a joke of a company.
