Forget Team Fortress. This is where it's all at. Counter-Strike is a mod for the game Half-Life. If you have played Rainbow 6 or Rogue Spear this game is for you. With tons of maps already available by the full install and more being developed by the time version 1.1 comes out, this game will keep you busy for a long time.
This game is almost identical to Rainbow 6 and Rogue Spear, where you can save hostages, or simply annihilate each other using weapons such as an AK-47, Colt M4A1, Steyr Scout, etc. The developers of this mod have tried to make it as real as possible, for example, you can hear the enemies footsteps when they are close, and a silencer on a gun reduces the chance you will be noticed.
Counter-strike is an online game online, its all about team work, so there is no single player. You can either download it or buy the mod. The download is approximatly 83MB and the retail version is about 30$. The retail has some maps missing from the downloadable one, but the retail has all the other half life mods included.
This is a must have for any Half-Life fan. You will not be disappointed.
