Sierra is an outlet online store, with a large inventory of shoes, outdoor clothing, some dress clothes, and various items of apparel along with sunglasses, home decor, climbing gear, a bike or two, kayaks, hiking equipment, and everything else outdoors.
I was drawn to them when a friend with a shoe fetish like me (it's a good thing!) told me their shoe prices were great. I found a large range of shoes, many brands not easily found locally, and wonderful prices. By virtue of being an outlet store, sizes may be limited. Often, the reason for the extremely low prices are because of this limited availability.
There are actually 6 different major categories of products this site sells. They range from:
Sierra Woman, For professionals, moms and home makers with active lifestyles,
to Sierra Traditions, Exclusively for men who like to look sharp at work, play hard, and indulge in the finer things in life.
I think they should be best known for their shoe selection. Brands range from Ecco and Mephisto to Dr Martens and Josef Seibel. Really, many of the best shoes.
Prices begin at 33% off, and frequently go up to 75% off or more. Once you get on their mailing list you may receive both catalogs by mail and by email.
The online ordering process is excellent, with views of products, in large sizes, and from different angles. Descriptions are well written and comprehensive.
There are also two areas on the website that offer even better bargains. Once is called the Bargain Barn, and one is a web only specials collection. Prices may be so good there it will be hard to resist things you don't even need!!
Being online only, there is no tax. Shipping charges are moderate, and lower than many I have encountered. There are times when shipping will be free also, during special promotions.
Merchandise has always been exactly as described, first quality, brand new in the box or wrapper.
